Hello guys, I wanted to announced that I finally released my demo for The Milgram Experiment. One of the inspirations of the game is the book Obedience to Authority by the same scientist. Other big inspirations are Papers, Please; Pools; Sublimnal and the show Severance.
I grew up and still live in Eastern Europe and here we have experience and past with authority and authoritarianism. I mean look at our oppressive architecture: photo (imgur link) I took yesterday while walking my dog. I guess the subject has always interested me… “While do good people follow evil orders?”
The game tests if you obey orders and how does your moral compass work (if at all). I invite you try it and give me feedback. Hope you love it!
after the demo you can walk outside to experience the full dystopian game
Oh, the irony

Hey :)
I’m honestly super surprised to see you / this game here on the Fediverse.A few days ago the trailer of this exact game was on my YouTube front-page recommended to me (despite just having hundreds of views). The game looked amazing (I even made two comments there). But now, seeing the same game / even the developer themselves on Lemmy, which isn’t exactly a well-known platform, is such a big coincidence :0
Anyways, while yesterday the demo wasn’t available for me on Steam yet, I just looked at it (the page was even still open!) and now it is :D
I’m actually hyped to play it, I just have one question :) How much does the demo spoil of the game? I’d love playing the demo, but I don’t want to spoil myself too much, so I probably wouldn’t play it if it contained large parts of the final game.
Thank you for the kind words : ) So the full game takes place over 7 days and in the end I have planned 10 unique endings. The demo is just the first 2 days so you can get a taste of what the experiment is about. Basically it doesn’t spoil anything. I am amused to read player theories about the story and the indentity of the main narrator tho! Let me know if you are gonna play it because feedback and positive reviews on Steam are always welcomed!
Ok but that photo of a building you posted could just as easily have been taken in any British town in the 1980s
Coming from an Eastern EU country I dig it. I have two questions if you don’t mind. • what did you use to make the assets? • will you make it steam deck compatible?
[Crafted without Gen A.I. No A.I. Art]
I dig that it doesn’t use AI art… ai code or music?
also, I think it would be useful to spell out generative ai.
will give it a look when I get home!
Is music not considered art? I would have thought no AI art already covers it
music is an art, as is coding… I probably should have specified.
Imgur already removed your picture.
Cool with a game, but at this point, im thinking the real world takes these things as instructions how to proceed.
downloading it now! looks very interesting
Thank you! Really hope you like it!
is there a way to turn the reflections off? they are causing really bad performance issues on my pc to the point where my game ended up unfortunately crashing during the 2nd test. i was averaging between 15-24fps even with a beefy pc (Ryzen 7 5700X3D, 32GB RAM, RX 7700 XT 12GB).

Hey, is this on Linux?
Yes, I should have probably mentioned that. I am on CachyOS using proton-cachyos-10.0-20260127

Cant play the demo for a long while, maybe ever, just leaving this here so I can find it in the future. It looks pretty good and its an incredible topic to explore.
Hope it does well!
I got partway through the trailer and decided I needed to pause so I could experience it fresh. It looked too good! I can’t wait!
Might have time to try it out, but either way, wishlisted to help your numbers.
Are you going to release it on GoG?
I don’t know yet, if there is interest. But the full game is not close to being finished
It would make Europeans happy that are trying to reduce their US tech consumption.
