When I talk about “stability” of software, I think about not having crashes and bugs. Most normal people I talk to would refer to a crashy piece of software as unstable.

And yet for distros, “stable” means unchanging. And people act like stability having anything to do with ability to stay upright has anything to do with it, like that’s some preposterous concept.
