USA vetos
There saved you a meeting
Which will be followed by Macron making a sad face, telling everybody “This was totally unexpected” and “There’s nothing we can do about it”, and carrying on refusing to sanction Israel and allowing Netanyahu to fly over French Airspace whenever he feels like without detaining him and sending him to the ICC.
This shit is all performative - yet another delaying action disguised as “doing something” in a long line of delaying actions disguised as “doing something”.
Seeing their flag over our land and heritage sites makes me want to puke
How about sanctions on the state of israel?
Not enough. Israel is a threat to peace and the global order. It must be disarmed and an occupying international coalition is needed to supervise regime change in Tel Aviv.
they are doing everything to avoid directly confronting israel, they know they cant afford to not support israel.
This is what the UN should propose to Israel. Egypt will be given the West Bank enlarged by land equivalent to the Gaza Strip. In return, Israel will be given the Gaza Strip and land at least 3 times larger than the West Bank in the Sinai Peninsula. Some of the land will be adjacent to water so Israel can build desalination plants. The Sinai is inhospitable, and Egypt doesn’t have the technology to develop it, but Israel does. With its new land, Egypt can give it to the Palestinians, make it a state within Egypt, or whatever it wants.
How about no? The genociders don’t deserve any more land.
Then what is your plan to stop Israel from getting more land?
Stop funding their war. Stop selling/giving them weapons.
I’ll say it again: Your plan just rewards genocide. So stop copy and pasting it into every discussion you see about Israel for the last few months.
My plan is a solution to stop Israel’s aggression. What is your solution?
liar.
Just tell me what your solution is to stop Israel’s aggression.
I already did in my very first reply. And you dont have a viable plan-- you just want them to have a reason to give them a bunch of land in exchange for a pinky swear. Thats not how zionisms ambitions work at all.
Here Ben Gurion quotes from the founding of Israel 80 years ago. Can you tell me how your plan can be considered viable when the people who lionize this philosophy are who are party to the plan? (bold text is quoites below is by my to illustrate the point)
“If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti-Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, **but was that their fault? **They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?” David Ben-Gurion (the first Israeli Prime Minister): Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp121.
“Let us not ignore the truth among ourselves … politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselves… The country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country. … Behind the terrorism [by the Arabs] is a movement, which though primitive is not devoid of idealism and self sacrifice.” — David Ben Gurion. Quoted on pp 91-2 of Chomsky’s Fateful Triangle, which appears in Simha Flapan’s “Zionism and the Palestinians pp 141-2 citing a 1938 speech.
“We should prepare to go over to the offensive. Our aim is to smash Lebanon, Trans-Jordan, and Syria. The weak point is Lebanon, for the Moslem regime is artificial and easy for us to undermine. We shall establish a Christian state there, and then we will smash the Arab Legion, eliminate Trans-Jordan; Syria will fall to us. We then bomb and move on and take Port Said, Alexandria and Sinai.” David Ben-Gurion May 1948, to the General Staff. From Ben-Gurion, a Biography, by Michael Ben-Zohar, Delacorte, New York 1978.
“We must do everything to insure they (the Palestinians) never do return.” David Ben-Gurion, in his diary, 18 July 1948, quoted in Michael Bar Zohar’s Ben-Gurion: the Armed Prophet, Prentice-Hall, 1967, p. 157.
“It’s not a matter of maintaining the status quo. We have to create a dynamic state, oriented towards expansion.” –Ben Gurion
“Every school child knows that there is no such thing in history as a final arrangement — not with regard to the regime, not with regard to borders, and not with regard to international agreements.” — Ben Gurion, War Diaries, 12/03/1947 following Israel’s “acceptance” of the U.N. Partition of 11/29/1947 (Simha Flapan, “Birth of Israel,” p.13)
“We walked outside, Ben-Gurion accompanying us. Allon repeated his question, What is to be done with the Palestinian population? ‘Ben-Gurion waved his hand in a gesture which said ‘ Drive them out! ‘ “ Yitzhak Rabin, leaked censored version of Rabin memoirs, published in the New York Times, 23 October 1979.
Partition: “after the formation of a large army in the wake of the establishment of the state, we will abolish partition and expand to the whole of Palestine “ — Ben Gurion, p.22 “The Birth of Israel, 1987” Simha Flapan.
“The acceptance of partition does not commit us to renounce Transjordan. One does not demand from anybody to give up his vision. We shall accept a state in the boundaries fixed today — but the boundaries of Zionist aspirations are the concerns of the Jewish people and no external factor will be able to limit them.” P. 53, “The Birth of Israel, 1987” Simha Flapan
5 October 1937, Ben-Gurion wrote in a letter to his 16 year old son Amos: “We must expel the Arabs and take their places…. And, if we have to use force-not to dispossess the Arabs of the Negev and Transjordan, but to guarantee our own right to settle in those places- then we have force at our disposal.”
On the 6th of February 1948, during a Mapai Party Council, Ben-Gurion responded to a remark from a member of the audience that “we have no land there” [in the hills and mountains west of Jerusalem] by saying: “The war will give us the land. The concepts of “ours” and “not ours” are peace concepts, only, and in war they lose their whole meaning” (Ben-Gurion, War Diary, Vol. 1, entry dated 6 February 1948. p.211)
Israel knew from Day 1 exactly what they were doing, they have been consistent, and you can see by their words and actions and philosophy that they will never agree to a lasting peace. Its right there in plain text. They state plainly that they do not agree with the concepts of borders or international agreements–they say those are for schoolchildren. Therefore t hey must be contained by military means, by us “schoolchildren” or their state dismantled. Your “plan” doesnt recognize any of this. You have forgotten history.
Not rollover and say nothing can be done like some sort of american? Maybe not give them anything? Maybe take stuff from them for bad behavior?
Like really that is lame, and sad. How about taking a coalition force into israel and forcing them back to the boarders from 50 years ago?
The US won’t agree to that. The US is considering fusing its weapons development with Israel. It’s one of the topics currently in this community.
I guess we should really be asking what should be done with the US
What is your plan?
this copy paste again.
OK well lets do round 75 of this then.Regimes which wont recognize universal human rights or who commit crimes against humanity should lose international legitimacy as a state and be embargoed and blockaded until they agree with an international court that its been rectified. Their citizens should be blocked from international travel and trade with them should stop completely. All assets held outside of the borders of those countries should be seized until they stop and make reparations.
The end.Your plan just rewards genocide.
Isolation doesn’t eradicate hate. Might halt it, but when people like Zionists and MAGA get their plans thwarted it’ll rewrite itself as the victim, the oppressed, the “Lost Cause”, and fester until the next version of old hate finds it’s way to power again. Might not happen in any of our lifetimes, but until you eradicate the source of the hate and implement deZionification efforts, you’re just caught in a cycle.
How do you plan for this embargo to work? The US won’t go along. The US is considering a military agreement with Israel regarding the development of weapons.
Genocidal maniacs are not acceptable anywhere and their right to exist should be questioned.
