Today’s game is Twilight Princess. I got through the Snow Dungeon today and also got through the Temple of Time. Now that i came back too the Master Sword’s pedestal, it gives me a chance to reiterate how pretty this scene is. I said this last time, but while Ocarina of Time is still my favorite, Twilight Princess definitely takes second spot for the Master Sword spot in my heart.

This brings up my second point here though. As critical as i am about Twilight Princess, it feels like a true successor to Ocarina of time. This isn’t to shame games like Wind Waker (which i also really loved) but Twilight Princess carries a certain quality that resembles Ocarina of Time to me.

For example there’s the Darknut fight, which i handled like you would the one in Ocarina of Time. Combine that with the slightly more realistic art style of TP, and it brings it a lot more to the same vibe OoT has for me.

I also like their design in this one and how they have the second stage with the thinner armor. It makes it more unique compared to the other darknut fights in other games to me.

My one complaint about the Temple of Time was the walk back. It ended up stretching the dungeon out just a little bit too long for me, but once i got out of that and got into the boss fight it redeemed it a little bit for me. The fight using the Dominion Rod like that was really unique. It was a cool subversion of the fight from the first game. (Plus the theme of dungeon being a remix of the Great Deku tree is a clever touch).

After that i made my way to Castle Town before saving and quitting. I assume i need something at Telma’s bar to recharge the rod to reach the last dungeon, so i set myself up to get there straight away next time i start up the game.
