This is a solution to a problem no one was having.
Neat.
So a modular PSU.
But instead of standardising cable connections & wiring across the industry, they made a connection plate thing.Which is pretty much useless. Just go with a detachable cables one, reattaching cables should be easy enough to a new unit in case of replacement. No need to retire anything in both cases 🤷
Even if you buy the same model PSU, you’re taking a huge risk if you don’t verify that the new unit has the same pinout as the old one. Manufacturers have been known to change pinout without revising the model number of name of the PSU.
Always use the cables that came with your PSU if you don’t have a multimeter to verify that old and new cables are identical.
That happens? Even with better quality PSUs? That’s
areally stupid. But still, the proposed solution has the same problem, doesn’t it? In both cases they can stick with same pinout or not. 🤷

Unless, for whatever reason, the pinout on the new unit is different from the old unit.
I almost fried my PC with that, before I paused and beeped the new and old cables out and realised they were wired differently.
How’re they going to lock you into their ecosystem if they can’t sell you useless proprietary bullshit?
