I was listening to an interview today where they brought up the North American Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act (NAFTA). People were working these manufacturing jobs they hate and the idea was. NAFTA would make things cheaper for Americans which it did. The downside was it took away many more high paying jobs for the middle class.

AI is like a second version of this law. It’s going to take away tons of jobs in the name of increased productivity with a reduced focus on safety.

People talk about illegal immigrants taking jobs away but they should be way more concerned with AI. The profits from all AIs saved labor that saved labor will go into the pockets of a few mega corporations. What incentive do those companies have to provide spread the wealth around and improve the lives of those suffering from AI? It’s deeper than just one country. There is income other countries rely on that will stop flowing and they will feel the deep impact as well.

Maybe figure out OneDrive and copilot before making such big promises? It’s going to be real fun as we try go navigate past more bugs because AI is messing up its tracking.

I agree we are stuck with it. I see the most benefit of AI going to businesses and scammers. Right now I don’t see AI being very beneficial to the average Joe. I feel like people know how to prompt AI better than they ever have and AI hallucinates more than it ever has. People need to fact check everything it tells them.

What I meant by it’s too big to fail was so much money has been invested into AI. I was also referencing when Obama said banks were too big to fail but that was more a satire statement.

I was going to read the article but but jfc the ads. I decided to go watch ads on my computer instead. Soon I’m going to go drive in my car and look at ads. I will also play YouTube and watch ads. When I get home, I play to do a little ad surfing on the internet. After that I’m going to pick the best ads I saw and buy their products. Then I’m going to use their products while getting to view the ads associated with them.

It seems like the bad education is by design (minus Covid times). I think an instant improvement people would see would be to fund the hiring of more teachers and ensure teachers are all making a decent wage.

If we are to keep class sizes 20-30 students then it would be appropriate to have 2-3 teachers in the classroom. I’m mainly referring to elementary schools here because kids need time to develop focus and studying skills.

Extra staff gives students the opportunity to get more person teaching when needed and also allows teachers more free time to focus on teaching. If a teacher had to get to school early to oversee students on the playground before school, then helps with drop off/pickup after school and then has to go home and grade papers that night, they won’t have time and energy to improve their lessons. The system as a whole seems broken but I’m just an idiot like yourself lol. This is my outside perspective.

You’re probably right. I just hate that teachers have to ask for basic school supply donations to do their job. For example, glue sticks aren’t something a kindergarten teacher should ever need to worry they will run out of. Give these people the resources to be successful. What do you think needs to change?
