The problem is that modern cars are shitty. It doesn’t matter if it’s a petrol, diesel or electric car. If I can’t repair it myself, it’s a poor quality car. The fact that you might need specialized paywalled software to remove error codes after fixing the car is just awful.

Most people I’ve spoken with that claim that they don’t like electric cars eventually agree that they don’t like modern cars. Mainly due to how closed everything is.

That’s a sentiment I get every day when teaching maths. Many do not value maths because they can’t see any immediate benefits. What I’ve learned is that you never know what knowledge you might need in the future.

Knowledge is knowledge and everything is of some value. Maybe not the greatest value at all times, but some value. One should strive to have as much knowledge about as many things as possible.

Thinking something is stupid and uninteresting is a completely normal thing. However, if you do have knowledge of that horribly dull thing, that knowledge is of value. Who knows, suddenly you might impress someone with that knowledge. Or you might be able to carry a conversation with someone who is interested in it.

I know almost nothing about sports or celebrities, but that’s not a good thing. I would be able to talk more with my colleagues if I had known more about sports. I’ve tried to learn more but it’s hard when I don’t find it interesting.

Dismissing knowledge. ”I don’t know anything about football. I don’t watch any game!”

All knowledge might be useful and should be valued as a positive thing.

Maybe they could use an LLM to make a summary of the results!

We see the exact same trend here in Sweden. We have the phones but we never had the president.

Or, you know, the fact that they started a war. The fact that they are murdering civilians. The fact that they’re attempting a genocide. The fact that Russia is breaking international law. The fact that they are bombing civilian infrastructure.
