If you’re in the US, there’s a high chance there will be an event organized near you as part of the nationwide shutdown initiative.

None of this is selfish or childish. It is a common problem that people are treated like they’re mature or strong for their age, but you are completely right that people are expecting too much from you, and it sounds like they just don’t realize it yet. There’s no such thing as being innately mature. You need care appropriate for your developmental stage. It sounds like you have done some amazing work, and in a situation like this, comrades should be supporting your needs. Have you talked with your branch leadership about this? One benefit to working within a party is that you shouldn’t have to suffer in silence. In fact, that’s how people end up not knowing how to get their needs met for a long time and end up quitting. Please speak with your comrades about how to meet your needs so you can continue organizing long-term in a healthy way.

Are you working within an organization so you have appropriate support and can build morale within the group?

There are lots of anti-imperialist and anti-war organizations. Some are more helpful than others for actually teaching you how to communicate effectively with the working class. PSL is good if you’re in the US.

The same way you do with the rest of the working class. Most of them oppose this war, and whether they do or don’t, your job is to teach them, build popular anti-war energy, and help them understand the class character of what’s happening. If you aren’t already working within an organization to help you do this, start that process.

The Mushroom at the End of the World by anthropologist Anna Tsing is really interesting! I enjoyed it.

This lines up with what I’ve seen from the UK. I wonder what it would take for some of you here to start your own party. I have never done something like that, but if you could connect with each other, you could volunteer with another organization together or simultaneously if you’re in different cities (any generally left organization, really) to learn some practical skills and help you evaluate social conditions while studying and preparing for launching your own org, and hopefully that would be enough for you to be able to approach it in the right way in a couple of years or so. It would take a ton of long-term dedication and discipline, but surely there are at least several people prepared to make the sacrifices necessary.

No, this is a libertarian magazine. You can tell by the slogan at the top. As cool as they’re accidentally making “republican socialism” look, they’re just average right wingers who are comparing Trump to socialists to insult him because they hate both.

I keep coming across your username here lately, and I get so confused for a second every time
FRSO and PSL are good. Every effective organization will have such allegations and worse made against them. You should see how they work in real life and approach them in good faith before you assume that what you’ve heard about the most principled communist organizations is true in the most anti-communist country in the world.
