As someone with a basic background in IT, nothing advanced, but enough to be the “family tech guy”, I just bought my router(mesh network) what can I do? Where do I start? I think I may have messed up with my brand choice, being EERO, as they seem to have things locked into their proprietary app. I was sorta desperate for a quick fix at the time, didn’t do the due diligence I should have.

I can make the argument that drinking alcohol is just as vile, and people that do it habitually are losers. However, is would be asinine for me to say everyone that has ever drank habitually is a failure. Cause that’s simply not true.

Also, it seems insane to me that airsoft weapons need an orange tip in the USA, a country that famously makes it easy to own a real gun.

Given the prevalence of real guns, wouldn’t you want a defining feature? So, if you, hypothetically, see a bunch of teenagers running through the woods with “guns” you don’t call the police. (May or may not have happened to me in my youth.)

I agree with you, but, I am curious, what does a departure from the status quo mean to you? Is not supporting Israel enough? I tend to say a lot of the same things you have in conversations, but, then I go “I don’t really have any solutions though…” so I look like an idiot.

Thanks for the reply! So, you’re basically saying, in both examples, trying not to be reductionist here, but, “these are great games, and you don’t like them as much as everyone else seems to”. Very few people are going to have no complaints at all. I don’t see how my original point is invalid or how this is a different definition of overrated. Or how you stating your opinion is any different or more nuanced than anything else in this thread. Like, I could also just say your take on Zelda is just “a mechanic I don’t like”. So…

Yes? I don’t understand this comment I don’t think. Isn’t that exactly what it means, the majority of people like this thing, and I don’t? Making it over rated? It’s not like there’s the “game rater” on earth like you might find a “name rater” in pokemon. Not like you can say “oh this guy objectively got this one wrong”.

Legal by whose standards? The international law’s? No one enforces that. Unless it’s to benefit the richest. Most international law is followed basically on the honor system.

By the US’s standards, everything is legal because the president has no limitations because our government will never pass those limitations on a president. If it was illegal, no one is can or will enforce it.

So, at risk of sounding like an online stalker, I saw that comment while scrolling from that “50 year old woman” and it was just odd. Don’t take it too hard. Then switched feeds and saw this post.

I say this as nicely as I can, but, this place is largely a collection of nerds, social outcasts, Reddit fugitives(ie nerds and outcasts lol), and people that have been banned from Reddit. Not all or even many interactions here will be status quo.

If it negatively impacts your life, leave, if it’s a social outlet, treat it as such, and don’t take it too hard.

So, I’m not active duty anymore. However, when I was in, unfortunately during Trumps first administration, there was a lot of cognitive dissonance. Fundamentally, from my perspective, you have to understand that the military is a cult. Indoctrination is literally step 1. I would argue, in my case, it had started well before I had signed up though. Once you’re in the big army though, that’s it, there are consequences to your actions. When I began thinking for myself again, it was clear I was in a quite literal death cult, and I left. However, there was a period of time, where I was aware of this fact, and I just had to do my job. Or, face the wrath of a death cult.

The military preys upon the weak, poor, and broken. Yes, there is personal responsibility, however, you couldn’t have talked me out of joining that death cult. Even if my own political beliefs didn’t align with the military I signed up to die for, it wasn’t enough.
