Fun fact about Lee Greenwood: he recorded an alternative version of his biggest hit, “God Bless the USA” where he just swapped out all the references. It’s called “God Bless You, Canada”. Dude is such a hack.

Roddenberry tried to bring it back in TNG. Reviews were… mixed.

Aside: IMHO, recording anyone in public should always be allowed. The fact that it’s men recording women shouldn’t matter in the slightest. You have no expectation of privacy when you’re in public.
That isn’t actually the issue, if I’m understanding the story right. The title is just click-bait. The real issue is that they were approaching women and talking to them, then using those recordings as part of an online “seduction training” course (I’m rolling my eyes even as I type that). So basically, they’re using the videos commercially without the subjects’ consent, which is illegal in lots of places.

Everything is Crab. A roguelite evolution game where the challenge is to out survive the other creatures. Don’t let the cute graphics fool you. It’s a lot of fun and the challenge ramps up quite a bit as you proceed through the difficulty levels.

So let me see if I have this right:
I can’t see how this can go well for the justice department. There’s no evidence that she was lying. It’s very possible she either didn’t know about the money from Hoffman at the time, or that the funding was secured after her deposition. Either way, a judge already ruled that it wasn’t relevant to the case. IMO, this will almost certainly get thrown out for being vindictive prosecution. IANAL, though.

You should read a little more closely before you draw conclusions. Your skimming missed the part that directly contradicts you:
Waldorf didn’t oppose abortion, but she had never considered that the law could apply to her.
Aside from that, it doesn’t even mention her personal voting record, only that she was raised by Republicans.

Just to drive that home, here are the voting requirements from the Delaware Dept. of Elections:
You may register to vote in Delaware if you:
I don’t see how any of the listed entities could meet those criteria.

Agreed, but it was a settlement. Her lawyer may have advised her that proving it was retaliatory would be a long and expensive road.

Lytvynchuk’s defense attorney, Myles Breiner, claims his client was trying to protect sea turtles, mistaking the monk seal for an aggressive sea lion.
“So his response was not to hurt this monk seal, but to get it away from the turtles,” Breiner stated.
Oh, I mean… people can make mistakes. I wouldn’t jump to…
The witness confronted Lytvynchuk, who allegedly responded that “he did not care and was ‘rich’ enough to pay any fines.”
Welp.

Yeah. My son and I went to see Project Hail Mary in an IMAX theater. That was pretty awesome, and I think worth it. But honestly there just aren’t that many movies coming out these days that warrant making an occasion out of it. I’m more comfortable watching at home when it comes to streaming.

Yeah, exactly. Chlorine is significantly more dense than air, and the plant was on low-lying land on the waterfront. So basically, we’d all be blanketed with chlorine gas and suffocate unless we could get to higher ground fast enough.

Man… my last year of college I got an internship in the IT department at the local pulp and paper mill in town. We had a big tank of chlorine on site for bleaching the pulp. As a result we were not allowed to be anywhere on the grounds without an escape respirator on our belt. We also had to have steel toe shoes, a hardhat, eye and ear protection, but those were only required to be on if you were in certain parts of the plant. We didn’t have to wear them in the offices. But that respirator always had to be handy. Basically just a filter with a mouthpiece that you suck air through. But some of the old-timers warned me that if one of those tanks ever really blew, those respirators wouldn’t do much good.
As far as I know, though, the mill I worked at never had an emergency like this on site. They have since shut down operation.

Most EVs being sold now will go at least a couple hundred miles on a full charge if you don’t drive like a maniac. And if you find yourself stuck with a low charge, level 3 chargers are pretty widely available and can get you to 80% in a half hour or less. Kia and Hyundai are good options on a budget, just don’t look at the high-end models like the Ioniqs. We bought a used Kia Niro EV last year. It’s a great little commuter car for my wife since her employer is making her drive into the office every day now. Nissan Leafs are often pretty affordable used, too. I’m with you on Tesla. The dealerships were flooded with them when we went looking last summer, and they were desperate to sell us one. “Are you sure? I can make you a great deal on a Tesla!” Not interested.
Sadly, you might be about a year late for the really good deals, and the Republicans allowed the EV tax credits to expire in September. If you can’t find a good deal on an EV, you might consider a hybrid, or pluggable hybrid (a hybrid with a larger battery that can be charged when it isn’t running). A former co-worker of mine used to drive a Chevy Volt pluggable hybrid to work and bragged that he only filled the tank once a year.

He’s like a school kid that didn’t finish an essay. He keeps saying he’ll turn it in tomorrow. Then tries to lie and say he did turn it in but the teacher hasn’t graded it yet. Then when that doesn’t pan out somehow the teacher lost it. It can’t possibly be his fault.

They tried to follow their harsh laws, got slapped down, and then kept trying again and again. Why? What are they accomplishing by killing him vs keeping him locked up?
So some politicians can say they’re “tough on crime” when they run for re-election.
Seriously.

Exactly. They were never able to provide any examples of anyone who actually thought it was a threat. That was just the pretext they used to arrest and punish him extrajudicially.

The charges they arrested this guy for were patently absurd to anyone who spent more than 5 seconds looking into it. In a Facebook discussion about Kirk’s assasination, he posted a quote from Trump about the Perry, Iowa school shooting, where Trump had said “We have to get over it”. They tried to charge him with making a terrorist threat against the local high school (Perry County, TN).

Fines? Under this administration? Good one, LOL.
Someone from Meta will probably be invited to head the FTC.
Most VR headsets have enough room for you to wear glasses while using them, but it can be a little uncomfortable. There are also lots of options out there for corrective lenses that fit headsets. I like the ones from Reloptix. I’m pretty sure Valve said in the initial announcements that the Frame would have a system for corrective lenses, so there shouldn’t be any need for special mods to make them fit.
