oh, thanks random internet stranger, have a point!

I did do a cursory search for firewatch wallpapers too, but the darkmode term seems to be the key here. Anyhoo, thanks!

edit: though, the site has it in fairly low res, all the download options are super compressed and just (badly) upscaled. But gonna look around if I can find a better version

  • I guess it’s time for my yearly check of the game. Got it eternities ago on sale, iirc before any expansion updates and it was… meh?

I’ve gone through some plot arc about

    spoiler

    some fellow trapped in vr/simulation/whatever

it was… all right. Didn’t care a bit about all the basebuilding or ship upgrading tho, it was fairly enjoyable as a walking sim :D

I guess there’s quite a bit more in the game now, like (trading?) fleets?

If I were to coop this with a friend, I’ve understood there’s some in-game friend-service with join codes, but does joining another player require some traveling to find them or anything or do I just spawn to them when starting a coop session?

  • I believe I’ve been to Ulfric’s throne room few times, but can’t remember why, probably some sidequests take you there as well? I do think I’ve done the war-quest but for the life of me I can’t recall which side I was on, or if it was good/bad/meh.

Usually in this kind of games I tend to do few runs to see each side of mutually exclusive paths, but… well, it’s been a while, like a decade according to steam.

Admittedly I haven’t played Skyrim in ages, but surely Ralof doesn’t die during the intro? One of the prisoners does die when they try to escape but not Ralof.

according to hastily googled 'scrolls wiki: https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Ralof

… However, Alduin attacks Helgen, and Ralof is able to escape. After reaching shelter, Ralof frees the Dragonborn from their bindings and asks for help against the Imperial soldiers. Later, the Dragonborn has the opportunity to rejoin Ralof and escape from Helgen. …

he’s part of few quest lines later on as well.

edit: but truth be told, even with name, I wouldn’t have regognized him after helgen anyway.
