My only criticism is lack of affordance on the slider. Is the dark part the slider or the light part? Some of the newer ones have the little ridges for “traction”.

Wondering the same thing, maybe they think the information about their private server and network setups will be used against them?

I think the major investors and CEOs all privately know this is insanity but are trying to capitalize on the wild speculation as much as possible so they are publicly saying otherwise. They probably think that they will have insider information about the bubble bursting and can get out in time, and they’re probably mostly right. It’s the normies with 401ks that will be left holding the bag.
Or, they are hoping that the bubble bursts while the Trump crime family is in charge and that big tech bribes will result in big tech bailouts. And they’re probably right about that too.

Probably before my time… What I remeber from using AOL was that their browser and keyword structure was like an idiot-proof version of the Internet that was accessible for the entire family. I guess they thought that typing www.something.com was for techies… But that ultimately they were still providing you an internet connection and you could use other software to access the actual internet.

So they’re voting to become a landlocked country fully dependent on two other countries for access to the sea, airspace, and all goods and services?
At least with Brexit there was a history and precedent for the UK as a viable independent economy, how exactly would Alberta function?
The only way this would make any sense is if they were planning to collude with Trump to become the 51st state…

Based on what Oleary said in his interview with Tucker Carlson, he doesn’t have a tenant yet. So billionaires are building these datacenters with the expectation that hyperscalers like Google, Amazon, Microsoft will be renting that compute from them.
Will that actually come to fruition in a way that justifies the billions invested? I guess we will see.

Is this just lack of dedicated GPU on mobile?

Didn’t know that was a cover, but also recently found out that Ghost of Tom Joad was a cover too. That’s the one I came to post.

Turned this shit off as soon as I saw it. What a bunch of bullshit. So IDEs have had quote completion features for years and now you want to claim that you “co-authored” my work because you suggested an end-quote and I hit tab? Fuck off, tempted to just disable this shit for my whole org when they change the billing model anyways.
This is why I avoid Bluesky

My wife leaves lights on all the time. I gave up and just put in smart plugs and lights so I don’t have to get up and turn them off.
Typically I prefer plugs, but with things like a nightstand lamp that has USB charging ports on it, I don’t want to turn off the whole device, so I use smart light bulbs.
The only smart appliance that I’ve found useful is the oven. If my wife leaves it on I can turn it off from my phone.

The “palantiri” reference is even worse than the simplified explanation in the article. They are crystal balls that were intended to be used for good and have been corrupted by an evil tyrant. When initially well-intentioned characters like Saruman and Denethor try to use them to monitor their enemies, what they see is warped by Sauron to be what Sauron wants them to see and the user is corrupted. It results in Denethor and Saruman doing some fucked up shit that they are convinced is for the better good.
So yeah, seems a little too much “on the nose”. Might as well just name your company TyrantCorp.

Is it because Netgear is a “US” company? Meaning they are on the US stock exchange, have corporate offices in the US, and manufacture everything in Asia?
