I’m an atheist, but Norman Greenbaum’s “Spirit In The Sky” is a banger.
Otherwise yeah, this meme nails it.

On two separate occasions I shot a rattlesnake that was about to strike someone I was dove hunting with.
First time I was about 15 hunting with my dad and I noticed he was about to step on a silent rattlesnake. I yelled snake run! And shot it as it was striking and he had just got out of range.
15 years later, hunting with a friend and the same thing happened, though he started running in a circle around it for some reason until I had to yell again to run AWAY from it!

I’ve been an atheist since I was a kid and first learned the word that explained my skepticism of all the nonsense I grew up with.
I became open about it when I got to college and had that phase where I let stuff like people saying “bless you” or “god gave you strength” get under my skin and make me mad. All these years later. I’ve learned to pick my battles and not let peoples well meaning sayings bug me.

International Harvester.
My dad had a Scout before I was born. I knew a guy with an international pickup truck that was indestructible.
I know the scout is coming back as an EV. But it seems to be a VW offshoot. So not really excited about that.

I also use heliboard, though I think the autocorrect is trash compared to gboard.
its a tradeoff I’m willing to put up with for the privacy though.
I use Zen as my primary browser. Vivaldi is my chromium backup for when something isn’t playing nice with Firefox, and for installing PWAs. Vivaldi is great. I used it for years before Zen came along.

I don’t know much about startups or finance. But that sounds like some scummy shit.
Also, Firefox sends up an alarm about that link. So something is sketchy.
On my work owned computer I use edge by choice. All the software I use for work is microslop anyway. So its more integrated and faster for that. I have a KVM and my personal laptop with Linux that I use for all personal stuff and slacking off. No personal data touches that work computer.
That Roman road also didn’t have thousands of multi-ton vehicles rolling over it every day.

A rock solid 24fps is totally playable for all but the twitchiest shooters for me. Its the cinema framerate aferall. Its when it stutters or dips that its dramatically worse than a 60fps dipping down to 45.
Yes. I’ve been playing apotris on my r36s clone and its my favorite version of Tetris ever.

Here in Texas at least, the lottery is state run and much of the money goes to help fund public schools and other charities or state programs. I’ve also never seen an ad for it in my mailbox. Just at gas stations and billboards.
I view it as a voluntary tax, with a chance to win big. Though of course any kind of gambling is problematic, I see this kind of lottery as one of the least problematic types of gambling.

One valid reason is for preloading. On Steam at least, when you preorder a game it will often let you download and install it the night before release so its ready to play as soon as you are.
I think a lot of what I hear from western media is communism fear mongering propaganda. But I also think that there are kernels of truth in some of it. China is a large country that I have no doubt is doing a lot of good stuff and a lot of awful stuff. Just like the USA does good stuff and awful stuff.

Of course it is. As a general rule, the older you get the less “famous” people you will know about.

My college banned fast food (specifically Sonic) cups from intramural events. Because everyone spiked their drinks with liquor.
“But with socialized medicine there will be government death panels deciding who does or doesn’t get life saving care.”
We literally have corporate death panels at insurance companies deciding who does or doesn’t get life saving care. Hell, most of the time its not even a panel. Its one sleazy sadistic doctor who is paid lots of money to deny everything he can.

Yeah, I assume ad revenue and maybe some merch sales.

Oh yeah, that’s a good point.
I actually looked up the song after I commented. Apparently Norman is Jewish and wrote the song after watching a gospel performance and said “Hey, I could do that.” He then wrote the lyrics in 15 minutes…
