Yeah… I pay attention to UK politics mostly to avoid hyper focusing on depressing domestic politics, and it’s devastating to see Labor shit the bed the way they have.
Like, you guys are supposed to be better than us (it’s a low bar)! But they squandered their mandate in the most perverse and infuriating way. I’m sorry. Shit sucks.
Anyway, that’s my half-assed perspective from listening to Pod Save the UK, the Bugle, and reading the occasional article.

This is not a thing at any apartment complex I’ve lived in or visited in the south/southeastern US. Also, if you’re renting a house that doesn’t already have a charger installed, it doesn’t make any sense to buy an EV.
Not arguing that it isn’t solvable, but for many people, the infrastructure just isn’t currently extant, nor is the political will to solve the problem.
Switched to Summit some months back, and it’s pretty much the same feel. The only thing I miss is the “parent” button. I’ve browsed through the settings, and haven’t found any option to enable this function. Pretty annoying when you’re reading through a long thread.

It’s a great game, but the hoops you have to jump through in the last loop to get the “good” ending are a massive pita. After my 6th or 7th try, I got burned out, uninstalled, and moved on to something else. At some point, I’ll go back and give it another shot.

Since the news broke that Academy was cancelled, I’ve seen a number of comments implying that people who posted negatively about it on Lemmy are in some way responsible for its cancellation. That’s a ridiculous notion. Nobody with the power to make that decision gives a single shit about what goes on here, nor are they even aware of our existence. I get that you’re frustrated, but your ire is misdirected.
I thought I remembered there being an episode where he did, but I’m probably misremembering the one where Bart claims to be Jimbo to ruin his date with what’s-her-face.

Indeed. Conversely, if the GOP had had superdelegates, Trump may never have won the nomination. Superdelegates are inherently anti-populist, which cuts both ways.

I think where a lot of this comes from is that HRC had locked in the vast majority of the superdelegates right from the start. The media consistently represented Bernie as having no chance to win, due to all the superdelegates being in the bag for Clinton, regardless of how people voted. This depressed progressive turnout, as a Clinton victory was apparently a foregone conclusion. Absent the superdelegate system, and the lopsided media coverage it engendered, many would argue the result would have been different. Obviously, there’s no way of knowing at this point, but it’s not as if these claims have no basis in reality.

I’m hoping Academy will be better than I expect, but I don’t disagree with this analysis (stipulating that I’ve yet to watch any of Prodigy). I think most of the high regard for SNW is a result of how dismal DIS and PIC were. I enjoy it, but it’s pretty shallow in comparison with any of the older series. Style over substance, as a rule.

I have to assume this series will be terrible, just in self-defense. I was really bummed out by how bad I thought Discovery was, and I don’t want to be burned like that again.
I support this. Are there any organizations supplying orcas with mk 19’s that I can donate to?
