Thought this was c/shittyasklemmy. It’s not, so here’s an earnest response. I’m from the US, but have spent a bunch of time living outside of the country. Every guy I know usually poops daily, but a lot of women only poop every couple of days. It doesn’t have anything to do with the cold.
Fun somewhat related story time. I once had a colleague travel to the US from South East Asia. He went to our boss a few days into the trip and said he needed to go to the hospital. My boss eventually convinced him to explain the problem. His poop was a solid mass instead of liquid. Dude had never had solid shit before. It’s possible an anecdote like this is what gave your teacher that idea.

I wish they would have gotten one more season. I loved that show so much.

In an industrial environment, you’d just pasteurize everything before making the dough. You can do it at home (I want to say it’s something like 60C for 2 hours, but don’t take some rando’s word on time and temp). There are a few brands that sell ready to eat cookie dough.

The problem with cookie dough is the raw flour, not the raw egg. You can make cookie dough for eating by roasting the flour.

Ontario California, not Canada.

Ooooh

There 2 easy ways to prevent poisonous moonshine. The first is throw out the first 5% of distillate. It tastes terrible and contains the majority of the methanol. The second is mix all of the distillate together at the end of the run. This distributes everything evenly, and prevents some bottles from being 85% abv(170 proof) while other bottles are 30% abv(60 proof).
In related news, if you’re drinking dodgy booze, make sure to occasionally do a shot of non-dodgy booze. The cure for methanol poisoning is ethanol.

Iran has frequently announced targets and given warnings to evacuate. It’s been surreal that they’ve continued to sound like the adults after years of being told how evil they are. The US is indiscriminately bombing everything, while Iran seems to be playing the long game of building an international case for reparations and prosecution.

I seriously thought I was the only one who thought this.

Skulls and bones. Sailing in black flag is probably my favorite gaming experience ever. Ubisoft announced a sailing game right after. All they had to do was add some upgrade paths so people could set up their ships for different playstyles. Like 10 years later, the game finally came out. It’s the only game I’ve ever refunded. Everything about it was terrible.

Yeah, I loved the concept, hated the gameplay. There’s a TV show that’s way better than playing the game.

Smokey River Walters, the fire engine guy is the best one I’ve ever heard someone say.
Correct lyric is Smoke on the water, fire in the sky.
So many hours in that game. It’s amazing. They eventually retire if I remember correctly.

I bailed on the US 3 years ago, and bought a house in Albania last year. It’s hard to leave and stay gone. Sometimes I’m completely overwhelmed. Learning a second language when over 40 sucks. Not having a support network near is the worst.
In Albania at least, 50% of the American immigrants are missionaries, 25% are fascists, and a huge chunk of the remaining people are retirees. Trying to explain to locals that the words coming out of trumps mouth aren’t what his actions are, is literally impossible.
There are huge benefits though. My house is mine. Forever. No ever increasing property taxes and insurance premiums on an already insane base price. I’m not scared of interacting with a cop. Food and utilities are cheap relatively speaking. Now that we have the house, we’re able to squeek by on about $500/month with bills, food, and going out for coffee a couple of times.

They’re under the command of the attorney General, so compromised.

The executive branch enforces the judicial branch’s interpretation of the laws passed by the legislative branch. I believe there’s a small judicial police department, but really all of the checks and balances we were taught about are gentleman’s agreements. If say the legislative branch decides that the head of state is God king of the golden shower, praise be upon him, and the executive branch agrees, it doesn’t really matter that the judicial branch thinks it’s illegal.
They paid as much for that seminar as I did for my 3 year residency permit in Albania.
