Gordon Ramsay being the unholy hatechild of John C Reilly and Ellen DeGeneres feels morally wrong, but factually correct.

I ain’t reading all that shit, bro. Go fuck yourself, you mad, whiny, smug bitch.

You really can’t help but be a smug asshole, can you?

100%, yes. We actually don’t even need a new law for that. We already have laws against treason on the books. We just stopped enforcing them when the traitors took over.

You know what? Fuck you, my guy. This is just a television show for you; the rest of us are forced to live here. How fucking dare you criticize the anger people feel at the fucksticks who did this to us while you’re sitting at a far remove mostly unaffected by the carnage?

He’s married to Tulsi Gabbard. How good can he be?

If people want me to pay more billions, then let’s have that debate.
Nah, bro. No debate necessary. You pay taxes in money or blood. Your choice.
You guys get 12 hours??? Must be nice.

I really like that poem “Ozymandias”, by Percy Bysshe Shelley. The point of it is: no matter what kind of outsized impact you have on the world when you’re alive, eventually no trace of you will remain, and everything you ever were and everything you’ve ever done will be forgotten.
It’s a heavy, depressing message, but I find it to be oddly freeing. If nothing you do will matter in the very long run, then you’re free to do whatever you want. Maybe you decide that you don’t care about the people 25,000 years from now and focus instead on the people in your life right now. Maybe you make it your goal to make their lives better.
You could succumb to depression and fall into a pit of despair and heavy drug use… but if nothing matters, why not spend your time making other people’s lives better instead? It feels good to make other people feel good.

… What?
I’m sorry - are you asking me when I last met Donald Trump because you think that “real life” means only the people I personally come into contact with, and not, you know, things that really happen in the world?

I really hope you’re not lumping Trump in with that whole “most people being reasonably honest and kind” bit. Because, oof.

Well damn. That is really unfortunate.
Not that he has cancer, mind. That’s great. Him getting treated for it is unfortunate.

Honestly, this conclusion makes perfect sense. If you’ve got gender dysphoria, that would produce depression, anxiety, etc. In other words, psychological morbidity. 2 years after starting the process of gender reassignment, you’re still not where you want to be (it’s a long process), but now you have to deal with no longer presenting as a cis person, and so you’ve got added societal pressure increasing depression and anxiety. It’s sort of a “no shit” conclusion, but it’s one that would be easily touted by bigots as the reason why they think “trans people” shouldn’t exist.
Yeah… the president of the United States of America posted this picture on his social media platform earlier today:

This AI slop is just an improvement on the AI slop he posted earlier.

We should treat him like an Egyptian pharoah, and entomb him with all of his cabinet members.

I adore the whimsy of this.

Yeah - she was definitely way more chill in the movie than in the book. The two characters were similar, in the way that a dragonfly is similar to a dragon.

Just watched it the other day. Stayed true to the book in the very broad strokes, but lots of differences when you look closely. Didn’t like the choice of making him a goofy, clumsy, socially awkward idiot; I feel like they went way too far with that.
I would have loved to see more of a progression with Ryland’s interactions with Rocky. He meets him, then like 2 scenes later, he’s got a voice synthesizer hooked up with an essentially complete Human - Eridian dictionary. Would have been nice to include a montage, at least. It just all felt so rushed.
Anyway - I give it like a 6.5 - 7 out of 10. It’s ok, but probably not one I’m going to want to watch again. It’s no “The Martian”.
Awww - he thinks he’s in charge!
