Kevin Hart is more than capable of creating an amazing roast without hiring known racists. I think the difference between Shane Gillis and the other comedian (whose name escapes me because he’s not good enough to be on my radar, except for when he says some shitty things) seems to me to be undeniably massive. Shane doesn’t come off as truly hateful, or racist, or misogynist, etc. Maybe I’m speaking from a white, straight, male comedy lovers’ biased perspective but Shane’s jokes feel like jokes where the truly hateful comedians’ “jokes” feel like character revelations.

I think there’s a place in comedy for roasts and I don’t think we need to platform the worst people to make them successful or entertaining.

Literally every review I’ve seen has said the movie is mediocre at best. Like 3 television episodes stiched together poorly. It’s 100% not the marketing, it’s the fact that the movie is bad and it’s evident from even the trailers.

If it had been a 1.5 hour long Mando being a cool bounty hunter movie unattached to the greater arcs and characters, id have gone in a heart beat. But instead their show has only served to make Mando less cool, more reliant on merchandisable creatures like grogu, and more attached to the main arcs which have been handled terribly. Idk man, it’s just clearly a bad film.

No. We’re not upset because we dont understand that a company needs to make money. We’re upset because we have basic pattern recognition skills and we understand the nature of late stage capitalism on wealth inequality (at least intuitively). This (likely) isn’t some smart business person coming in to balance the books, this is (likely) some rich asshole whose job is to kill the golden goose and sell it for parts before anyone catches on that you need it alive to produce eggs.

True! There was a period where I swore PF was better than 5E but then Draw Steel started posting their early system versions and I realized I was arguing for a couple of degrees of difference when the real improvement was an entirely new way of thinking.

Draw Steel isn’t for everyone or every group or especially every genre/playstyle, but I think it should force everyone playing generic fantasy style hero games like 5E and PF and 13th Age, etc to reexamine the lineage of games we’ve been used to.

Andor is the best piece of Art to come out of Star Wars. It transcends the IP as a piece that I would recommend to anyone, while only enriching the original material/world for those that have seen at least some of the original (6) movies.

How does running a server, assuming it’s used some amount of internet bandwidth, handle residential internet speeds? If I’ve got a gig up and down, can I reasonably run like a jellyfin for my friends?

Isn’t it randomly batched out to the whatever like 18 million steam users every day and it automatically collects it?

I’ve never manually input my system specs into a steam hardware survey. Idk why you’d think people can lie or why using publicly collected data frequently and across a massive population makes someone an idiot.

That’s one of those things that, at least for me, sounds wrong when read but having whipped out the ol’ calculator is correct. Wild.

It’s cool so many people are going with arch based distros. I’ve been on vanilla arch and had nearly zero issues. I like the idea of the optimizations Cachy provides but I’m not certain how much of a difference that would make and if that’d be worth it. I suspect it’s not a crazy large difference and therefore any flavor of arch including vanilla is probably sufficient, let alone all the successful distros that aren’t arch based.

Right now I have 3 sources:

• mate drinks like Mio Mate (found in Germany) and that’s 100 mg a bottle which is all I’ll have a day unless I’m really feeling it (so max 200).
• black coffee which I hand grind and brew via aeropress. Just one cup normally. I don’t have any idea how many mg that is but it feels as fast as the mate although maybe anecdotally weaker.
• loose leaf tea, which I brew once or twice a day, using old leaves from the day before (if I’m on a streak) and a splash of new ones (unless it’s the first day where it’s all new). Feels slower but lasts longer so maybe it’s more caffeine? I guess it depends on if I’m doing black or green or white etc.

So I’d guess 100-150 mg on average on days where I’m having caffeine. I try to do long breaks between a couple weeks of having it. So like a week or two of drinking caffeinated drinks and a week or two not having it. Not too stringent but just something I’m cognizant of to not get dependent.

I moved to Germany from the US and make a point of calling myself an immigrant to tackle this very thing. Honestly I haven’t heard expat used by anyone besides contractors looking to go back home after the duration, but that’s anectodal.

Because from what I can tell Matrix isn’t a good Discord replacement. I’ll spin up a server just to trial it, but every person I’ve talked to who isn’t already on Matrix and every thing I’ve seen or read says it’s not a discord replacement, it’s just a chat app.

Stoat and Fluxer can be self-hosted which is my main desire. Something fully under my control, with my data security, that won’t rely on another service to keep it running (although naturally I rely on the code base being maintained, hence donating as if it was a paid product).

I’m considered middle class despite being something like in the top 10% of earners in the US and I don’t own any property. I don’t know if I could afford to own property with their current prices. I’m not certain property taxes hit the middle class as much as they might have back when my parents were in their prime. Of course it still hits a percentage of the middle class, but I’m suggesting that percentage is shrinking and smaller than the revenue it would generate from the rich.
