I moved to labwc in my migration from X11. Gnome/KDE felt less stable on wayland. In a way it makes sense that transition is more painful for big full of features DEs.
Re Guix. It usually boots just fine on standard hardware. Its just the wifi drivers that are widely unsupported. But all of that is solved with like 5 lines of config in a standard place.

I think you are deluding yourself in terms of quality you get at restaurants. It’s almost always a bit stale because they have to buy in bulk and move inventory. People that I know that work in kitchens never recommended to me eating out.
