Mad World
I was shocked when I finally heard the original after hearing like 3 or 4 covers of it first. Tears for Fears’ original version is just… It’s not bad, but it’s the least good version of that song. Lol.

I don’t think that’s the case here. This is an old webcomic that has been offline for many years called Pictures for Sad Children according to OP and Wikipedia. When I do a general image search for it, virtually none of the images I see appear to have a byline (except for one that appears to be a book cover), so it’s looking like the original author published the individual comics without one.

Two come immediately to mind, both PC games: Heroes of Might and Magic II and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
HoMM2 had a big, thick manual explaining all the game mechanics, but the really cool thing was a big inflatable, laminated chart/poster showing you every unit in the game with its stats so you could look stuff up during a battle and make intelligent decisions (I believe the GoG version comes with a PDF of it, but I still have my original physical one and it’s awesome).
Similarly, Morrowind came with a gorgeous, full color world map along with the manual. They reprinted it and included it with the anniversary anthology pack that came out in the 2010s that included Elder Scrolls 1 through 5, but they cheaped out and printed it in monochrome.
Bonus: Even the original Pokemon games fit this bill. The manual tells you about the type system and gives you a little rock paper scissors style diagram showing how the 3 starter types beat each other to get you going and hint that other types also interact that way.
It sounds like you’re describing a tiling window manager? The first response in this thread has some good information from someone who uses one and loves it. This thread on the EndeavorOS forums discusses some and it sounds like i3wm is one of the easiest to use right away but is also really easy to customize.
I know there’s a pretty flexible self hosted finance manager called Firefly. Not sure if there’s any functionality built in related to donations specifically though.
Figured I’d at least mention it since I only see one other comment so far, just in case it’s helpful.

You might think your apps aren’t worth sharing, but I think most tabletop GMs are constantly looking for the perfect set of tools for their purposes and I bet yours would probably be just what some people need! I mostly end up just using Obsidian and keeping notes in markdown files, but I know some people want/use a lot of other tools.
Congrats on bouncing back from such a hard thing with such vim and vigor! I hope your recovery continues to go well.
For sure. The real test for finding out if you are a morning or night person is to NOT force yourself into a schedule and never set an alarm. Then you will find out what is actually natural for you. Of course, this can only really be done when you have an extended period of time without work, so I don’t think most people do it.
The only job I’ve ever had where I didn’t ever need to set an alarm was being a pizza delivery driver working second shift. I’m naturally a night owl, so I would go to bed around 5am and wake up between 11am and 2pm. I started work between 3 and 5pm and never once had to set an alarm. I miss it dearly. Now I am on an office 9 to 5 schedule went get to disrupt my sleep every single morning to make sure I make it to work on time. I love my job, but still resent my schedule.
It’s funny, I was thinking the opposite. Lol. The design reminds me of the Dreamcast controller. I remember the first time I held a Dreamcast controller and how insanely comfortable it felt compared to NES, SNES, Genesis, N64 and Playstation. Granted, modern PlayStation and XBox controllers are also much more comfortable than all of those too, so the Dreamcast one might be uncomfortable by modern standards, but I don’t know since I haven’t held one in 25 years.
I’m hoping this new Steam Controller is as comfortable as I remember the Dreamcast controller being.
Yeah Duck Duck Go is my default on my browser at home.
I have also stumbled across alltheinternet.com and it has become my favorite. It feels like searching on Google 20 years ago, and I actually get unique, relevant results that Google and DDG don’t always give me.
