When I was job seeking I had two versions of my resume. Things where I was pretty sure it’d be ingested by an AI, I used that resume. Sometimes a rare listing asked for a direct email and I used the more personal resume for that one.
Then it didn’t matter because a recruiting agency scooped me up for something I didn’t even apply for.
However I will say definitely be the most ‘you’ that you can be while still being, yanno, work appropriate about it, that you can be. Good soft skills make such a huge impression.
I sat in on a couple interviews. Blew my mind how many candidates were clearly reading from an AI. They all gave almost the exact same, very AI-sounding answers to the skill based questions then just slammed into a wall when we asked them questions that are more opinion based.
Not all of them of course, and we wound up hiring the person who sounded the most like an actual human being having a conversation with us out of the lot. (Of course, he matched the skills we needed to so that wasn’t the only factor.)

I’m mostly just concerned on what I’ll do if a piece of hardware dies or corrupts at this point.

Tesla
Found the article! https://www.reuters.com/investigations/why-teslas-ai-trainers-dont-trust-its-self-driving-tech-or-its-safety-stats-2026-05-28/
Seven of the former data labelers told Reuters they wouldn’t trust FSD to drive them. “We have all seen it fail,” one said. Another said he wouldn’t ride in a Tesla robotaxi “if you fucking paid me.” One veteran self-driving engineer, who reviewed Tesla crash data for years, called its safety claims “bullshit.”

You are absolutely correct. I hate driving. I take any opportunity to not do it that I can.

Ah bummer. Though I should mention the Tesla workers comment was just me paraphrasing a different article talking about Tesla’s auto-driving, not Waymo related stuff. I saw the two today, but saved one and not the other.
I’ve edited in a disclaimer to be skeptical. Thank you for catching that!

Or trollies! Or subways! Or rickshaws!

You couldn’t pay me to get into a Waymo but you COULD probably convince me to pay a person to get me somewhere. What a novel concept!

I’ll probably be picking up an adult trike actually–I have developed some balance issues as I’ve aged sadly. But I am happy to see they even offer e-trikes!
How a word is used can induce confusion too. It’d be like if someone said “Anyway, Rotteners for the comment. Sorry.”
Though ‘rotteners’ would be a good word for a spoiler that makes you hate something afterwards haha.
Navidrome lets you do both so if you’re a self-hoster, you don’t have to choose which is nice!

Wow! Great write-up; I really appreciate the time you took to give me such a thorough answer. :) Thank you! And now I definitely am going to be eyeing some e-bikes myself haha

Let me clarify. If it has a motor, how is that different from a moped? Sincerely, not being snarky here. Is one just more powerful than the other?

I was looking into this today, trying to figure out how to make it work in a docker compose but had just a hell of a time sadly. I’ll take another crack at it some other day. Fingers crossed!

If you don’t mind paying for it, I like Kagi. There are some people who don’t for reasons outside of its performance, so make sure you do your research if you care about those things.
For free, DDG isn’t bad, but there’s also options that can be self-hosted or you can find other people’s hosted instances: SearXNG and LibreY for example. (I’d link to some but I don’t want to accidentally get them hugged to death since they’re being run by small independent servers.) I don’t use any of the above free options so I can’t comment on which one’s better or not but at least I am aware they exist. I know SearXNG lets you also pick and choose which search engine services are used in your searches.

I wish I knew what it was that caused that spark. I’ve never had an e-bike, just a regular bike. It’s been a very long time since I even rode one of those, so I don’t really know what to picture in my head that sets the e-bike apart from a regular bike but not being a moped or mini-motorcycle.

These days it feels more like “then parachute and let a venture capitalist firm buy up the mess, so they can pawn it off to the nearest would-be monopolist”

Because it’s difficult, confusing, or sometimes both. I’m not from CO so I can’t speak to whether or not that part is confusing or not (though I’d not be surprised if the average citizen wasn’t even aware this was an option for them.) The hard part would be that you have to collect signatures which eats up time.
Which isn’t to say you shouldn’t do it. I think it’s a great idea!
Nature is extremely unhurried which is so radically opposite of almost every aspect of modern life that it’s like finally get a breath of air to be able to immerse yourself in a setting that isn’t manically trying to get your attention.
