NTFS has gotten better on Linux but it’s still not there. It is still highly prone to corruption, especially for a task like proton requiring constant read, write. You might get by for a little bit, but it is highly prone to failure

And ntfs does not work with proton so if you keep your Windows games that don’t work on a separate drive, they won’t work on linux. Make sure all of your games played on the Linux install are downloaded separately onto a Linux file system like ext4
I meant list it elsewhere and not on steam. You can list it as many other places as you want that don’t have that policy and price it however you want. Nothing stopping you. But if you agree to the terms steam has long had set for listing it on steam then that’s how it be

Im saying there are other key sellers that have it for less that they don’t stop from doing so, but the things steam had and the publicity it gives are of value and they don’t want to have publishers using steam for publicity and other community and forums what it and directing most of the sales elsewhere. They can by all means list their games elsewhere and price it however they want. But that’s always been the terms of selling on steam. Of they don’t like it they shouldn’t agree to the terms. But it’s not like it’s some new policy that valve implemented out of nowhere. I don’t completely agree with their policy but if publishers have an issue with it then don’t agree to it
When steam provides substantially more services for a game with achievements, forums, workshop, etc. And then developer wants to list on steam and then funnel people over to a different platform to buy it cheaper. Steam isn’t getting compensated for the services they provided to boost the game’s popularity.
As others have said there’s already ways to get the game cheaper like humble bundle or Green Man gaming. This is literally just steam doing what they can to see a return on investment and not provide these services for free.
The comparison between Google and apple doesn’t really make sense as steam provides a whole bunch of services while epic provides a purchase button
The fact that it trains a lot off of Reddit immediately disproves that… Specifically, when looking into things like coding and Linux help, it often spits out an answer based on out-of-date information or just completely incorrect information leading newer users to believe it and break their systems or just struggle until they give up and switch back to Windows… Having a lot of information trained off of doesn’t make it smart. Having good, accurate and up-to-date information makes it somewhat usable, but that’s not the case.
Also, Google making it even worse with their new search changes. It’s making it so that internet traffic that would have gone to websites that actually put the articles out there instead just gets taken to AI with the goal of them going to AI for everything… Why would people hosting websites and posting on them continue to do so when none of the traffic is going to go to them and they are basically just working purely for the benefit of an AI company

I’ll have to check that out too… I have this ancient laptop from 2011 that just collects dust otherwise… I have arch installed on it but the SSD bay is one screw access, so not much hassle to swap for the once a year at most I need that program
I will have to check that out. I use it for my switch 2, I ended up resorting to using a spare SSD. I had lying around to have a extremely minimal Windows 10 install that I can swap into an old laptop for the sole purpose of of getting firmware updates and managing the macros
The most reason I see for it getting dogged on at all is that the CEO agrees with annoying orange on some things but it hasn’t bled into the product whatsoever… but mostly that they are kind of just becoming the new Google in creating this huge suite of software. That’s all connected through one account though. It’s still substantially better than Google in terms of privacy and security

Bosses scale with level like any other enemy. As far as I know, I think it was like level 53 or something. When I fought the timekeeper I locked in and dodged all of his attacks and never got my shield popped… You might just need to get better gear or reevaluate your skill tree layout. That’s what happened to me post game when I tried to fight deathbloom the invincible and got decimated then farmed for better gear following a build, guide and melted it in less than 90 seconds

Yeah I have used it for navigation while driving. If I need to add a stop but anybody texting me while I’m driving gets to wait until I’ve reached my destination. They aren’t that important and if it is important then I’ll pull over for it
People with dual boot are more likely to have games on NTFS and think that they can use them under Linux and not realize that just because some people get lucky with it for a while does not override the fact that the proton GitHub itself says do not use NTFS for the previously stated reasons
