Ben Goldfarb, author of Eager: The Surprising, Secret Life of Beavers and Why They Matter (seriously, that’s the title of the book), notes that, “If you were to pick the least aerodynamic animal imaginable, beavers would be high on the list. They’ve got these thick, chunky, pear-shaped bodies… The incongruity of this very land-bound animal soaring through the sky is just inherently comedic to people.”
