Intel expects that, with its Panther Lake platform, the adoption of the "AI PC" narrative would be much more aggressive.

The ai is interpreting the assembly code instead of your processor

Don’t you want the AI to be able to tell that the string of inputs it just received wasn’t actually meant to be you trying to open your browser, but actually to wipe your hard drive?

Can this wasted silicon even be used for anything productive? Especially if one doesn’t run a commercial system?

Because it’s plausible that amd will follow suit.

I mean, it’s already embedded in a lot of different things that you may not realize.

      • Many photo/video modes on phones can/do leverage dedicated NPUs
      • Translation services that run locally

At the end of the day, anything that can be done in parallel can leverage these cores.

If it can sort your photos, or run a low level LLM to sort through files, then at least some corporation isnt sucking up your data.

For Linux anyways, Microsoft will slurp up everything, if youre using Windows your begging for your privacy to be non-existent.
