After Google Search's AI update, the word "disregard" now effectively breaks the search interface.

I have been a professional tech journalist for nearly 15 years, and before today, I cannot think of a single time when a Bing search result was more valuable than the Google equivalent. There really is a first time for everything!

I can’t think of the last time I found Google search results useful at all.

Yes it’s been a mess for several years and rapidly and steadily declining.

Problems, you say? Not in my end.

I use mostly DuckDuckGo, but I also got a bunch of extensions that make Google search more bearable: Disable AI, Google Search Ad Remover and Customizer, uBlock Origin, uBlacklist.

I can’t recommend Disable AI enough. Seriously. Those “AI overviews” are trash, they often output incorrect information (as any large model), and there’s no “official” way to block them out, unlike in DuckDuckGo.
