Curry and Cooper perfecting the whole Key&Peele playbook. Honestly good for them. They really are comedic geniuses.
Jordan Peele said in an interview with Trevor Noah - “The difference between comedy and horror is the music”. Vince Gilligan also, “If you can do comedy, you can do thrillers.” (referring to casting Bryan Cranston)
I’m starting to think comedians are top of the food chain.

Preach!
I’m starting to think comedians are top of the food chain.
This is also becoming my perception. In Ty Franck and Wes Chatham’s podcast, Chatham’s general role is that of describing the craftsmanship of acting which is one of his obsessions since childhood. In one episode, Chatham goes into some detail on the challenge of comedy acting. Basically, it’s Jedi Master acting to do it well, and from there all other acting is just a matter of desire to do it.
Most acting is drama. Best acting is comedy.
Comedians need at least two things to be successful, the ability to convey information with a large number of emotions and a constant attention to how it is received. The most well known can switch between emotional and cold or happy and angry while playing two people in conversation. Both are incredibly important skills for acting in roles!
I think it is more that comedians who have already honed those skills on the stage make great actors as long as they don’t carry ego or something over, just like established stage actors moving over to movies and TV. They have experience that carries over.
