I don’t think it’s in poor taste to acknowledge the massive waste of life that has been happening, we’ve been sending a lot of mostly POOR young people to die for nothing for years and years and no one talks about it. Of course we need to honor people who sacrifice their lives for our country, but also, it is okay to ask, was it really necessary in the first place? I think preventing further people from being tossed into the war machinery is more of an honor to them than anything else could be.

Cool, cool. We should always make sure to play Tone Police on the Democrats while Pumkinhead trash talks pretty much everyone and starts unnecessary wars with no real plan - all while talking about golden ballrooms and statues, stupid plans for the reflecting pool and more demolition of the White House.

Oh, and is throwing a redneck party for himself.

Memorial Day is about honoring soldiers who died while serving, all of them.

This is definitely Trump’s war, and his decisions led to these soldiers deaths. This is controversial because they singled these men and women out for a political message.

Any other day this post would be no issue, not memorial Day.

This exactly. That people don’t understand this is worse than the actual incident.

Any other day this post would be no issue, not memorial Day.

Why does ever soldier deserves honour? You don’t know what they did, and a lot of them died while fighting for nefarious causes. Perhaps the entire concept of a memorial day is problematic on its own, since it has always been used to whitewash a lot of heinous shit.

Remember “All lives matter”? And do you remember why it was controversial (read: in poor taste)? Because this is an easy one to parse if you just stop and think for a sec.
