Or Amazon Exec Tell Gamers Not To Expect A Good Sequel
“We do see this continued integration of video and movies and videogames, where that line is becoming much more blurry,” Gattis said. “We think that’s a real opportunity for us to create IP that extends—or kind of expands upon—TV shows and movies. So there’ll be a Tomb Raider TV show on Prime Video that’ll go alongside the games. There’s a lot of things we have in the works on new games that’ll relate to Prime Video IP.”
So it’ll only be on consoles then like the horrible Grand Tour game.
Making a videogame- How hard can it be?
Wow, way to crater a potentially good IP by letting a dumpster fire of game studios develop them. I won’t bother to buy the first game at all, I can’t bother to get my hopes up with a decent game, only to know the future of a franchise is totally fucked.
If this game never received any sequels at all it would still be worthy of your time and money.
I don’t understand, you’re going to not buy a game that you presumably want developed by one studio because a sequel that does not exist and is developed by another studio because that non-existent, effectively unrelated game might be worse? Why not just get the one good game you want and ignore the games Amazon develops?

In three years, once it’s nicely patched, for 10€ or less.
I was excited to see a sequel after watching the whole playthrough, but this killed all my expectations. Of course everything has to be enshittified.
I have trust issues.
Just another example to show corporations don’t know shit about making games. Literally looking at a good thing and say nope we want to chance fuck this up … “
Honestly, this was going to be a wait until moderate discount for me since I have such a massive backlog. I guess I’ll pick it up now just to support IO Interactive for getting screwed by AI.
Spoiler Alert:
Tap for spoiler
Imagine making a game that criticizes having blind faith in AI, just to get screwed by a company that heavily funds LLMs and enshittify your story.
just wait for a discount, no need to support people who already plan to clown themselves by not letting IO make a sequel to first light
Right now it’s self published so outside of licensing fees most of the money goes to the development studio and I’m okay with that.
hmm, that’s fair then
And I won’t be buying it then. Great job whoever decided this, saves me 70€ 🙂
As I understand the current game is developed and published by IO meaning the current Bond money probably goes to IO (as much as the licensed game profits can go to the developer) so I think it’s still worth buying. The next Bond games can go die behind a dumpster.
I mean specifically the sequel(s). The current game I would’ve already gotten if I didn’t have to spend money on something else, but still intending to buy it some time later, looks fun and pretty much exactly what I expected.
Ah, fair enough. I assumed you also meant the current game which is priced at 70€.
007: Last Light
I suppose it’s a little dumb that I’m thinking of buying it now if only to instill a future headline “007: Danger Speaks barely achieves half the sales of its IOI-made predecessor”, and to show support to IOI for all their work on Hitman - even though I never really bought their DLC junk
