In olden times, a “faget” was almost exclusively used as a unit of measurement, meaning a “bundle”

“In olden times, language was different”… shocking

The original commentor mentioned this “why stick with outdated homophobic slurs”. But all of you are right, these insults are important to us. Way more important than the people they were used to harm.

Look, I’m not trying to hurt anyone with words. I’m sorry if I come off that way, and I’m certainly not trying to argue against good intentions. The way language do be and toward the people you meet… someone’s getting hurt. That doesn’t mean we can’t try to be better… but we can also cut each other some slack. If it truly offends you, I’ll stop and I’m sorry. If you’re just trying to prove a point… I hear you. If you’re trying to be correct… good luck my friend

Fuck you, love you, and I’m a stupid bitch

The point was that language has not yet changed enough to erase the homophobic connotations of cocksucker from living memory. But if you love calling people cocksuckers so much, go on ahead—I ain’t your daddy. (It sounds like it’d be excruciating, honestly.)
