Oh I thought it was a squirrel and was like, “Well there goes the neighborhood”
Finally poked their head out

“bonjour”
The outside of the birdhouse looks like a block of suet
That beak looks almost hummingbird-inspired. Any idea what is?
I think it’s a bird
(I think it’s a theropod dinosaur, but you didn’t hear that here)
correct, I read it instead
Maybe a wren?
I agree that it looks like a wren. Merlin, the bird id app from Cornell, also suggested a few different wren species.
The head seems too discretely round / oval to me. With wrens and many other passerines, I feel like there should be a more distinctly thick, sloping neckline. The head here really does seem unusually hummingbird-like, altho probably not an actual hummingbird as they prefer and build cup nests.
Then again, we don’t get to see much of the overall bird, and it’s also true that when ‘thick’ birds stick their necks out, their heads can indeed look very round like that. So…
Getting some trypophobia triggers from that birdhouse…
Huzzah!!!
