This is an unpopular take, but as he exited his interview with Welker he placed a very platonic hand against her shoulder (gently, not creepy as you would expect), amost as an apology or acknologment of her efforts after her admittedly aggressive questioning of him.

I found this to very out of character for him and wonder if anyone else noticed it?

He leaned on her when trying to run away, because he is a rotten old corpse of a man who cannot stand up on his own. He used her as an object of support when fleeing from the difficult questions, that is all.

You are reading something in it which definitely isn’t there, and it is particularly insane that you would read “apology” as part of his behaviour. He has never once apologised in his entire life, nor felt the need to do so.
