I have an experience with being abused in a certain community by a person who later got lolcowed there for other stuff. Them being a lolcow didn’t help me at all.

• Part of community that considered them a lolcow minimized their abusive behavior and its impact on me.
• Part of community that didn’t participate in that was conditioned to see them as a victim rather than an abuser and pushes me away.

Wrong criticism can easily distract from deserved criticism.

Like criticism of Harry Potter from position of religious fundamentalism protected it from legitimate criticism of neoliberal bullshit it feeds children with.
