My first thought was the other way around… Starmer knew he was on his way out and needed to push through the social media ban to repay the tech oligarchs that got him elected.
Either way Burnam needs to actually change tack, and TBH I’m going to take some convincing to not vote for the greens.
I don’t think a 180 should save labour here, personally. They’ve shown full complicity as their party and media infrastructure chose violence against immigrants and Palestinians.
A complete purge of Labour Together would help, but I am far from optimistic. If anything, Burham seems willing to promote some of the bad actors and bring back ethically compromised staffers, rather than taking out the rubbish. When people see a new frontman backed by the same old cast of dickheads, I don’t think they’ll be fooled for long, no matter how hard the media tries to carry water for Burnham.
Well I guess we’ll be looking forward to the 7th prime minister in 10 years. Just keep in mind They’d rather nuke the party than stand up for their constituents, minorities, labour, or stand up to Israel. Truly a pathetic party that even manages to make the Democrats look less crazy. Corbyn was their donor organ and they rejected him, so I guess now they’re committed to dying.
