Sour Jeffries Says Mamdani Has 'Work To Do' After His Candidates Oust House Incumbents

The House minority leader told CNN the mayor is going to have to patch things up with congressional Democrats following Tuesday's primary upsets.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) says New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is going to have to smooth things over with congressional Democrats after backing several progressive candidates who ousted incumbents during Tuesday’s primary elections.

Asked if Mamdani’s endorsements were making him “enemies” with Democrats in Washington, D.C., Jeffries told CNN that he and Mamdani “strongly” disagreed over his primary picks ahead of Election Day.

Now, according to Jeffries, the mayor has serious “work to do in terms of the conversations that he’s going to have with members of Congress moving forward.”

      Again, the fear of losing money isn’t the important part in determining cowardice. The important part is whether they are failing to do something they want to do or know they should do because of that fear

      I’m done trying to explain this now. I’ve repeated myself several times. I appreciate that you want this to work so you can call people like Hakeem Jeffries cowards whenever you want. You do you, I guess.

        I mean yes, that’s my point. They know it’s wrong to bomb children. But they’re scared of losing money.
