A top official at the National Park Service says a liner along the bottom of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was cut with a sharp knife or razor this month, causing damage to the foam sealant installed as part of a $16 million rehabilitation project.
“70 fence posts” thrown in the pool? Seems real weird. AFAICT protesters pushed down a temporary fence and threw bits of it into the pool. I’ve thrown stupid stuff into a vinyl-lined pool. Even punctured a bit that was costly. But I don’t see how that would cause big sheets of coating to float up all over.

Apparently there are 30 seconds of grainy footage of someone vandalizing. Pics appear to be of a woman, middle of the afternoon, among lots of other people. She doesn’t actually get into the water so even if she sliced a bunch of caulking on the sides … again, I don’t see how she could cut 350 feet(!) like that, and even if she did, it doesn’t explain coating floating up all over the pool.

The “wanted” poster says that particular incident occurred on 6/19.
The article states someone slashed the pool on 6/9, while it was still being refilled from the original renovation.
They are not connected events.
Sure they are. Connected by being false reasons for the algae andiner issues.
