The monochrome color choices, plus the light vignetting over the reasonably normal cityscape and the impossibly large and long bridge to (seemingly) nowhere imparts some of that Old Stockholm Telephone Exchange energy, a sort of “look at the improbable shit people built in the past, that had to have been photoshopped in, they really live with a bridge that big, just right there?”

They do, the bridge is huge, and I shot that from the Astoria Column about two hours ago.

Thanks for seeing my work!

It’s not that great of an area, it’s literally called Dismal Nitch.

Actually I wonder what sort of Euro-settling explorer wandered through these beautiful places, just absolutely having a shit day: “fuck this place, it’s Dismal Nitch. That’s Cape Disappointment.”

I love how we have names like that and Deception Pass.

It was named Cape Disappointment because they were disappointed to learn for certain upon arrival that there was no Northwest Passage that they had been searching for.
