Boy, that makes you wonder.

You are many orders of magnitude more likely to kill yourself or a loved one with a gun in the home than you are to stop an attempted home invasion with a gun. The statistics aren’t remotely ambiguous, you are much much much more likely to get shot when you have a gun in your home.

When stupid people are in the statistics, yes it does. And you failed to mention any source. What area? Just all of the USA?

And we’ve quadrupled down on not understanding how statistics work. This has been an incredibly typical lemmy discussion but even my masochism has limits. Good luck with the whole becoming a statistic thing, certainly your overconfidence that you’re one of the magical safe gun owners won’t have negligent discharge consequences. Buhbye now.

I understand dude, holy shit. Read last message.

Did I say that statistic was wrong? If so, I apologize. I assumed you were just a troll. My big point was, lock the guns up in a safe and it is less likely.
