He added that physical and psychological damages “inflicted on each individual of the Iranian nation in the 2nd and 3rd imposed wars, from child killings and war crimes in Minab and Lamerd to attacks on medical centres, is each a legal file that must be pursued in both domestic and international courts.”

He further stated that from the “murder” of newborns and the elderly to the assassination of his father and predecessor, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, “each is a file among thousands of major legal cases that must be earnestly pursued in domestic and international courts”.

“What is definite is that these criminals must be seized by the collar and brought to justice for their criminal deeds,” he asserted.

Never in my life could I have expected to agree with the Iranian government. But, on this specific issue? I do. There needs to be accountability for this.

true, but I don’t see how that actually answers the question posited. Iran has committed numerous human rights violations on their accord. They shot over thirty six thousand of their own people in January.

What question posited? Whether Iran existed as a nation before earlier this year? I’m really struggling to understand your point. It seems to me that you would like to decontextualize Iran. History matters, and you will never understand the present without studying the past.

Right, but the original thread wasn’t discussing history, was it? That was a goal post move.

More than one thing can be correct. And in this case, the Israelis and US do not need to be in Iran, but this does not negate the ridiculousness of making a comment like “Don’t you think indiscriminate bombing, genocide, and child sex trafficking are a bigger problem?” when both sides commit these exact crimes.

Again, you are distorting and decontextualizing. Both-sidesing like this flattens the reality of the situation, and only serves to justify the status quo. If you care about the problems in Iran, your very first concern should be ending the imperial wars and sanctions against them. Otherwise what is the point of this conversation? I’m here in the US. I presume that you are also in a country that provides material support to Israel or is otherwise directly attacking Iran. What can we do about Iranian problems? We can support the status quo of starving and bombing them, or we can be against it.
