HBO’s going to produce as many spin offs of GOT as it can get away with because other than The Pitt, there’s not much else left on there to watch. They’ll keep pumping out White Lotus as long as they can, Euphoria’s probably got one season left, and everything else has run its course/ended/been canceled.

This article is from about a month ago and seems to have less information than The Hollywood Reporter article .
The important bit from that article being,
Yet in recent days, sources say a new writer (Quoc Dang Tran from Drops of God) has come aboard to revive the sequel idea. While the story is still being fleshed out, one possibility is shifting the drama to the Mediterranean-like land of Essos and adding another hugely popular legacy character — Arya Stark (who was played by Maisie Williams in Thrones).
First off, bringing back a character like Arya is risky. She has a lot of baggage. You can avoid some of this by following Arya’s story as we last saw her, which leads me to my second point, “What is West of Westeros?”.
We either have to immediately retcon the ending of Game of Thrones, which… no one likes anyway, so I guess? But also feels cheap. Or she comes back years later, much older, but then also all that baggage comes back.
I think exploring Essos could be fun. Dany left behind a mess. It was a little bit settled, but I don’t imagine it stays settled once word of Dany being dead gets around.
But Essos also has plenty of past to explore. I think when it comes to exploring the world the past is the best place to go. Unless you want to jump forward another 100 years or so.
It would be fairly easy to retcon things in universe. Like brand reign could be a few years and then something happened etc
She’s not a very good actress tbh.
Oh wow, the least likeable of the Starks. (In the show)
