Daily driving /e/ since 4 years. The only gotchas for me are:
For me those are fairly small gotchas in order to get a degoogled OS. Also you have easy control over which apps may use Google Push services and the possibility to turn on your Flashlight by long pressing the Power Button (Thanks to Lineage OS background) which is nice to have and not included in the Android Version of FP AFAIK.

swapping hot and neutral typically isn’t a problem - its alternating current anyway. However, most DC Appliances are sensitive to reverse polarity. Ever tried connecting a electrolytic capacitor the wrong way around? On the other hand many customer appliances have some kind of protection against reverse polarity.

That is not THE Dark Reader! Only this knock off for the edge browser is affected.

The popular Dark Reader is not affected by this as far as I know. Only this knock off for the edge browser. Source: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vT1XgBs25gRlg5e3nYCAff967WMtZZTO-TB3rR9zszaJpTpCVFg8j7FkBxnHb3tw3aHGjKBGSxYyLgV/pubhtml
OpenSource means you may look into the algorithms that decide what you see and everything technical. You may find for example that Lemmy doesn’t use an algorithm that is trained to make you addicted.
The fact that likes are basically public is a byproduct of the federated aspect of Lemmy and somewhat also a design choice. (Since otherwise it would be hard to make your upvote count on all federated servers)
