Yeah, no problem. I have 3 of these Samsung BD-J5700 players. Found 2 of them at thrift stores, cheap. At one time, I had a hard drive I just left plugged into it with a bunch of shows and downloaded YouTube videos. It worked great. Now, I just have a PC plugged in and my players are just collecting dust. But if you can find one of these, they work great for playing off USB.

Maybe some kind of additional pulse generator that just uses the original signal as the trigger or something. Definitely seems like the new screen is much better with ghosting, but the old screens probably used it to their advantage when doing grayscale.

No. I’m not sure if my parents would have had any objections to it, but they never suggested it. And it never occurred to me. That’s something I really regret. I think it would have helped me a lot. I think I will encourage my daughter to when she gets to be of age. My wife has worked since she was 16, and she is so much better at money management than me. She handles our budgeting.

If the definition of AI as Artificial Intelligence means the Intelligence is not real, i would say no. So, that rules out Asimov robots, and anything similar i see them similar to our real AI, just computers running through algorithms. But, if the definition of Artificial strictly means ‘not biological,’ I think it could be possible.

So, Data from Star Trek. I feel as though he has real Intelligence, capable of independent thought. I could be friends with him. I’d let him babysit. He just doesn’t have emotions. And that is a quirk to him, Lore has them and is physically nearly identical. Also, Andrew from Bicentennial Man (an exception to the Asimovs). And I am pretty sure I could love David from A.I. as an actual child. I would definitely help Ava escape at the end of Ex Machina.

Bishop from Aliens is a challenging one. I feel like he is basically an Asimov type robot, but he was very selfless in his sacrifice to save the humans. I kind of think I could let him babysit, as long as the kid does not know he is a robot. I don’t think it would be good for them socially. But I don’t think I could treat him like a friend.

I would never let GLaDOS babysit.

Weirdly enough, Coleman has one with it. I have one of these, but it’s only 24oz. I also have a number of Contigos, both plastic and vacuum insulated. But none of the larger ones fit in a cup holder.

Never had one, I’m kind of surprised. My mom got all our games when they were discontinued and discounted. Turbografx instead of NES/SNES. Saturn instead of Playstation. Virtual Boy. Game.Com. I still have them all.

I have a soft spot for what most people consider objectively bad movies. Battlefield Earth, Waterworld, Soldier. Some of my favorite movies from my teenage years.

I remember getting a USB 2.0 PCMCIA card for my laptop to use my enormous external DVD drive. The only DVDs I had at the time were X-Men, Star Wars Episode 1, and Nothing But Trouble.

For about a week, I had my coworker’s face as my cursor. Just because I could. I wanted to see how long it would take people to notice. I share my screen a lot. I was surprised it took that long.

After downloading tons of them, and trying them out on various computers over a range of screen sizes and resolutions, and also considering what fits with the vibe of my theming, I have ended up with Breeze. Pretty basic, but I love it. I have to use Windows at work, and got Breeze on there as well.

I love this every time I see it. I don’t know why, but “Have you had your hearing tested lately?” cracks me up every single time.
