This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while, but like you… Money.

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while, but like you… Money.

I have a Mirage G4. It has a five speed transmission. It does not have internet connectivity, it doesn’t have a touchscreen, it doesn’t have keyless ignition, it doesn’t even have a fourth cylinder. It’s as reliable as a hammer, it still gets me over 40 mpg, and it’s paid for.
Dream vehicle? Any motorcycle. I have one, and I ride it sometimes, but I have a family that cares I’m alive and a lot of you seem to need a phone in your face to drive a car…

I have a feeling that there is or will be a water-borne version of a shahed drone. Something small and cheap and mobile vs big expensive high tech ships.

Right, they give up before they try.

Just as you say, the people who are doing the actual work aren’t driving a Tesla to the machine shop/grocery store/concrete plant/wherever they work. And in most of the US, public transportation is a complete joke.

Yes another non-answer.

Interesting development this morning. My supervisor isn’t here. He drives a big diesel truck ~40 miles/65 km to work. The truck allegedly gets 22 mpg. Diesel is $5 per gallon now. A little bit of math tells me it’s about $20 just to drive to work and back each day, not counting any tolls.
I’m sure it’s nothing.

“Americans, why haven’t you built a parallel system that can take on the strongest military in the world yet? It’s been over a year.”
Edit: see what I mean?

“We can’t tackle government lobbying, the lobbyists bribed us not to.”

It will get the attention of the parasite class when nobody can afford to drive to work. There aren’t enough electric car owners to keep the economy going.

What does the truck that delivers your food run on?

My hope is that the price of fuel goes so crazy that people can’t afford to drive to work, causing a general strike.

If you don’t have a car you can’t get to work
This is it. This is the difference. Along with everything being spread out, and fuel efficient cars being a distinct minority. “Just ride a bike” is something I’d love to do, but I’d get killed by some monster-fueled purposefully stupid prick in a truck. And that person might get a ticket. The very idea of taking a bus or train to work is pure fantasy where I live.

You haven’t had decades of anti-public-transit propaganda in Norway, I bet.

If they can get the materials.

I have read more than once that it can take multiple interceptor missiles for each drone.
So it’s even worse!

Gas is strangely cheap in my (deeeeep red) state as of this morning. It went up to $2.99 when the war started, but has held steady. That can’t last, and people here are really going to struggle to afford gas if it gets over $4 per gallon. It will be interesting to see if people get priced out of commuting.

I’ve been suggesting a debt strike for a long time and nobody ever thinks it’s a good idea.

I’m curious how long they can hide the numbers. Do soldiers call their loved ones every day? Or write them once a week?
That’s not how we do things in the US. :-(
