I ended up with 4 of these as well as Steam links from their clearance sale forever ago. Only 1 has a broken bumper button from overuse but they are all still fine otherwise. Can’t wait to get my controller 2 availability email.

I recently got off a long international flight and decided I was tired and hungry enough to eat at a Taco Bell for the first time in years. I pulled up and was faced with an AI speaker instead of the system I’ve lived my entire life using at all fast food drive throughs. I loudly said “Im not talking to fucking AI” and promptly drove to the chick fil a right next door and talked to a human face to face to order.

I rarely eat fast food so I’ve since learned they usually have someone monitoring the system to fix its mistakes. I also assume they record it all so I should have let them know they’ve lost a customer for life. Granted I didn’t go enough to really matter anyway, but that will be the last time and I’ll make sure I let the next chain know if this happens again.

I’d rather have a touch screen in the drive thru and all the problems that come with that than have a fucking toaster talk to me and be the gatekeeper of my food order.

I came in here ready to say home keys. Then I thought that might be confusing without an explanation given the actual “home” key. Then no one was calling them that even though the lemmy demographic skews older.

If/when the day finally comes I’m assuming there will be resources of the options available, perhaps even a megathread here. Or I’ll just look into what’s out there myself. You’re missing the early days when plex lifetime pass was ~$50usd and jellyfin wasn’t a thing (that I know of). I believe Kodi was the only real competitor at the time, and it was much less friendly.

Plex has slowly moved in a less user friendly direction, but still meets my needs and I’ve easily gotten over $750 in value from the…almost 20 years, wow…I’ve been using it.

And still holds up. Been showing classics to my horror-interested nieces and nephews and they loved 80s Blob most of all so far.

I have seen some fried rice balls around. They were more pan fried than deep fried. In fact, nothing I’ve had here is really what we’d consider deep fried in America, even if the cooking style is similar, because the batter is so light and not greasy.

I’m in Japan right now. This is maybe only true for fish. These guys fry plenty of stuff and it’s all delicious.
