Tbf he’s Presbyterian, the same church as Mr Rogers, and by this atheist’s view, the only genuinely honest Christian sect as a whole. They focus heavily on Christ’s teaching on community, believe in the charitable service of others as the devine will of god, and they don’t prostilitize or require tithes. That’s not to say bad people can’t be apart of any faith, but as he’s a minister of that church (like Mr Rogers) I’m inclined to think he’s honest about those core beliefs and not just riding the good name of the church like other politicians have.

Ultimately none of that really matters. He’s on record more progressive than Crockett, and unlike her, did not take AIPAC money. That should be a deal breaker for any voter I don’t care what party, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion.

Yeah this. I hardly touch AAA titles anymore besides some Nintendo and Rockstar. But I’ve put in hundreds of hours in indie games, AA simulators, and some big studios’ smaller projects like Square Enix’s HD2D titles.

Not really a surprise, people dunk on Kurtzman a lot, but even he’s not stupid enough to allow AI like that to air.

Yeah I agree, there’s still some lingering odd choices from Discovery, but for the most part the ship has been set back to the right course with SNW and Academy.

Unironically I think Tawny Newsome would make a fantastic showrunner. Frakes has taken her on as a sort of protege and she killed it with the witing of the SAM episode.

I started viewing Academy through the lens of a YA show more than a flagship Trek series and that really helped me form a different opinion of it being quite fun. I like that it doesn’t take itself seriously like SNW has mastered and I think Ake and her XO are the best parts of the show for sure. The stressed tf out military Chancellor is pretty hilarious too.

My only real concerns, with most of Kurtzman shows, is the inconsistent writing. Some episodes are fantastic, and you can tell there’s talent in the writing room like SAM’s episode, but I feel like too often a lot of the plots just rely too heavily on who screams the most at each other and odd tangents.

I also just can’t really get behind the fact that the Federation would abandon any of its planets, much less a founding member. That being said, having the capital be on Betazed is totally a Federation move I love it. Bringing back the MACOs really feels forced and an illogical choice for the Federation to do as well. I think it could’ve worked just as easily if they had the rivalry between a more amped up Security and Science/Medical imo.

Despite all that, I’m still very happy to keep watching and enjoying the show. Ultimately I’m kinda glad it takes place in the 32nd century as its kinda a soft version of the alternate Kelvin timeline. I’d really love to see some new post-Dominion War shows imo.

I drunkenly ordered the Switch 2 Virtual Boy and forgot about it, but I gotta say Nintendo really did a good job. The lens are real and the emulator quality was shockingly good. Had very low expectations but it really does feel like a modern VB.

I cannot stress this enough if you’re remotely worried you’d get addicted you definitely should NOT play. I used to do opioids and I’m not exaggerating this game was more addictive for me. Like lose your job addictive. I’m adhd and on the ASD and absolutely obsessed with the concept of optimization. The thing is you’ll never really reach peak automation unless you do like this project, 400 people 10,000s of hours.

I’ll give you another reference point. I’ve also played wow, Arma Life, and Foxhole, all very common addicting games. I’d sit down to play one of those with a beer and after a ~3-5 hours and a few beers I’d take a break and notice time went by. Factorio I’d sit down at 6pm and never touch my beer, never move an inch from my seat and think a few hours went by when it’s now 8am and I only notice 14 hours went by because I see fucking sun light.

Fuck this video really makes me wanna play again haha.
