You could just stay here because reddit sucks ass.

Yeah, it’s not that easy to navigate. Let me try to untangle your thinking:
You created a Fediverse account on the reddthat.com server. reddthat.com runs lemmy, which is a reddit-like software. Because they federate with other servers, you can read and write posts from other servers that run lemmy, too. For example, the Ask Lemmy community runs on the lemmy.world server.
Most servers that run the lemmy software use lemmy’s default web interface to show content. It’s called lemmy-ui and it’s pretty decent. However, because lemmy runs on the Fediverse, the web interface and the server are independent. You can choose from a ton of different web interfaces. Check this list for reference.

On desktop
This is my happy place, browsing with this setup feels incredibly cozy.
On mobile iOS:
Almost all posts I see this way are highly relevant to my interests. I love both photon’s and Voyager‘s UX.

You sound pretty cool, kudos!
I’m using Posteo for over a decade now. It just works, pricing is simple, never had any complaint.

Love the ensemble, very solid European products indeed!

Who is Jacque Fresco and what did he say?

I feel you @[email protected]. At work, my entire team uses AI coding assistants. I see that there are many tasks that benefit from AI assisted coding, and I see the team shipping more as a result.
If you ask me, it’s AI-slop only if it’s low effort, low quality contribution. But you can absolutely use AI tooling to create high quality code, and some of the best engineers in my team do so.
I think there’s a lot of negative sentiment in this community towards AI, and I personally think that denying that AI is a useful tool for writing more and better code at this point in time is somewhat denying reality.
The dangerous fruit tastes sweetest, doesn’t it?

Turns out the place where the shock absorber goes is also the place the „shock distributor“ works best from 😈

Huh, I don’t get that argument. To me, it seems that citizens paying journalists is desirable. I’m genuinely curious, who else should pay them in your view?

Democracy isn’t possible without an independent press.
Epstein was persecuted because the frigging Miami Herold reported about his abuses in 2018. He would have continued raping and trafficking kids for who knows how long without that. In a world where the media is owned by Epstein, that won’t happen.

Good reminder to pay for journalism.
The Guardian, Le Monde, El País, Tageszeitung and many others need subscribers to stay independent of the oligarchs.
If they use a new email and VPN there is no data the ML could use to identify them.
/edit: Nevermind, you know this better than I do. If they keep using a VPN on all devices, they should be able to avoid the ban though, no?
