Hasbro relies on MTG to make them profitable, so there’s been a lot of selling out.
Even if you ignore the Universes beyond, the price of packs is way too high now, and they’ve made some blatant cash grabs.
“30th anniversary” was a secial set with a different back, making them basically the same as the old gold-boarded decks, not tournament legal. This results in them being considered proxies, but made by WoTC… For $1000 for 4 boosters.
It isn’t a joke. They didn’t even bring up real life people that are in cards, or SpongeBob, mylitttle pony, Fortnite, or furby.

In 2019 someone livestreamed themself committing a hate-crime/mass shooting, killing 51 Muslim people in New Zealand. The shooter began his livestream with “subscribe to Pewdiepie!”
That seemed to be a rude awakening for Pewdiepie, and I believe that he’s stopped with the racist shit.
Baby driver was such a creepy rewatch. Everytime Kevin Spacey called the young male character by the name “baby” it made me cringe.

Just like laws and policies, you need to look at how bad things would be if it was used by bad actors, not just how it would work in a magic land where everyone is rational, moral, and just.
