I downvote for inaccurate/old/not relevant/misinformation.
However, I also see down votes on the posts themselves to signify for others they disagree with the finding/topic but I myself try to refrain from doing that to still encourage people to keep posting.
I.E. Topics that are not privacy-respecting but still interesting is commonly downvoted, some trivial news sometimes about media, etc.
Honestly, if its an article I dont agree with the findings of, I just move on. No downvotes or up votes.

Slay the spire 2. Still addicted.

Docking mine to my stereo system and TV sort of messed up the settings. Like my surround sound doesn’t work anymore. So I moved my steam deck to a different TV that doesn’t have a nice stereo unit on it.

I’m a nurse. It was on her and definitely not the hospital. My coworkers and I were following the case. She overrode the warnings like 7 times if I recall.
We all learn about the six rights of medication administration in nursing school. Like yeah the technology was evolving but it still told warned her. She ignored every warning. Many nurses have successfully not killed people before this technology too. Its always been a big issue (medication errors) and still is but she was so negligent. The fact that she does speaking appearances IMO is a joke. Disappointed in CHA.

Very true. I think more specific robots are better for specific tasks. Like you said I think its for the challenge now. We didnt need a dancing robot or one that can make free throws lol

Ultimately, no it won’t be beneficial but late stage capitalism is going to fuck us one way or the other with or without robotics.
Its still coming and where its at now is undeniably impressive.
The most beneficial uses on a more micro level however which I agree with are jobs that are dangerous to humans. I mean we have used robots for space and deep sea exploration forever (super neat drive).
Warehouse jobs are also dangerous due to risks of acute and chronic injuries. Humanoid robots are 100% going to make it there. In an ideal world our future would be Star Trek but to your point it will be more like Alien universe.

Nurse pornnnn

So many people are talking and so focused on AI that everyone’s been missing the robotics.
My husband has been showing me videos every week of robots from Japan, China, etc. Robotics has advanced insanely fast last few years.

I pay into the Finch App and I gamify my habits. They claim to respect privacy via their paid customers like me but either way, it helped me gamify good habits.

This is my take.
However, my husband has a very interesting theory. He feels like its going to go in the way of the Alien universe where there will be universal income in a way but provided by government/corporations and a controlled populace.
Both options aren’t great 😂

This is my take on AI too. Not in tech but its just tool to help me do some of my job.
Every couple of decades there will always be something that comes along and shakes up multiple job industries. People had the same fears about the emergence of computers, renewable energy, etc. Just have to adapt if your job is heavily influenced by those innovations.

White peach pie, then pineapple brown sugar, then pecan pie

Dude I would be so happy to take a peach tree myself if they let me and plant it at my house. I know its only 1 but sad so many are wasted.

Who has the time to single out these board members among so many critics?!?
Same.
I imagine most places people turn on their camera. I would find it especially weird to have a manager and never seen their face.

Faces vomiting leopards
Omg I forgot What We Do in the Shadows!!
