Not sure if we are talking about daycare or elder care at this point in the thread, but it applies to both: they work with vulnerable populations and entail a lot of risk / legal liability, thus have significant insurance costs and regulations to comply with.

So…voice recognition, which has been around for decades? They’re calling that “AI” now? Yes I realize that newer implementations are more advanced. But it’s still a voice recognition system.
They could have literally just titled the article “McDonald’s introduces voice-recognition drive-thru system, sparking customer backlash.” But that wouldn’t make for an attention-grabbing headline if they didn’t shoe-horn “AI” in there.

That’s why news articles and such use “allegedly” and other language to avoid making direct claims.
I went PC-only several years ago and haven’t looked back.
I’m done with consoles. That does mean missing out on some games, but interesting games are already coming out faster than I can play them.
What part of an order-taking system would even use AI? You punch in what you want and pay. Where does AI enter the picture?

There are trade-offs to both extra batteries or an ICE engine to drive a PHEV.
There is no one-size-fits-all, so people will have to evaluate which solution they prefer on a case by case basis. EVs are often (but not always) the better solution, and the market agrees with this on both number of models available and number or units sold.
But EVs are even more reliable

Realistically, both technologies are mature enough that either technology can be very reliable if the manufacturer puts in the work.
Also you still have to do ICE maintenance on hybrids like oil changes.
ICE and hybrids do have more maintenance, but it is still infrequent on modern vehicles.

The reason it may be enticing for many is because of the enormous disparity in cost such that it becomes a risk assessment. Sometimes the alternative to medical tourism may be long-delayed or no treatment at all, though I realize that low-quality treatment is very often worse than no treatment.
