4€ a month for a VPS. Used to host a wireguard VPN and make my home server publicly accessible with restrictions

25€ a year for the domain name.

Recently found the first friends that i put that level of trust into and I can not explain how much it is way different than a therapist. Your partner holds a special place, but that also comes with alot of its own issues. For me there was alot of extra pressure purely because they are the one i care about the most. That hindered me from being as open as i wanted in certain situations and could not stay true to neither them nor myself. Having friends that you trust enough to do that with but where the stakes are “lower” makes that way easier. A therapist could do that but its usually way more time consuming, expensive and less fulfilling than having people that already know and thay respect you to whom you can open up and discuss with. It is also just way more “real”, heart-to-heart and human in a way a therapist can not be.

Any source on that? As a european i am very interested on reading up on this!

I think its more what are they not doing. I bought this car in a meh condition and have only done the bare minimum to keep it alive and passning inspection.

Im running Jellyfin myself. Still havent ported it to my server tho, just running off a disk in my main PC. Whenever i get more storage on the server or just a proper one (currently just running an old laptop w like 500GB storage) I will try to move all of my socker containers and movies there.

I would want to write some kind of roadmap and define all the cloud based services id need, like NextCloud and other stuff id want available remotely, but that would be done tinkering since id have to configure a VPN for it 😬

As Pear said, its built on top of uBlock Origin, im pretty sure it has all of these same functionality with element blocking and filters built in.

This feels like a good post to mention AdNauseam! For anyone who wants an adblocker that helps more than just you! It basically blocks ads but also sends a click request to every ad that should have been loaded. The data being sent with this request contains spoofed garbage data that makes the tracking data sets lose value. It also keeps a funny metric on how much the estimated cost for your clicks is :)

• IronFox/Zen Browser with Adnauseam, Sponsorblock, DeArrow and ClearURLs
• Mullvad VPN with AdBlock (off because of Adnauseam).
• GrayJay instead of YouTube.
• SimpMusic + Locally downloaded songs for music.
• Local media server for movies

Only places i have yet to tighten privacy (AFAIK) is email and chats (did make a burner acc on Discord and deleted the old one though). I dont use social media apart from the fediverse. All those accounts are deleted.

I do use K9 Mail and Thunderbird for email clients and F-droid and Aurora Store as an app store replacement.

I have long hair that falls of constantly due to the sheer amount and density. Way worse than my partners. And we also just got a cat. Needless to say we are looking into getting a roomba or something of these likes.

I see the security hole. I imagine some ways it could be abused by an attacker. I admit I am not knowledgable in extension development to make it clear those are hypothesized ideas. Hell theyre even phrased like question? I even agree this is not directly malware and that saying so is a stretch.

Punishing drunk drivers wont solve the problem. So even if that was the case the better option would be to deal with the problem at the source. Which they already would have if they cared enough. Since they havent i think its fair to assume this is not the main objective of this.

Your comment seems very dismissive in the way you phrase this as intended behaviour. A security flaw like this can impossibly be intended behaviour.

In my previous comment i also say thats calling it malware is a bit far-fetched but the security issues are absolutely there and should not be dismissed as “intended behaviour”. Especially not by a company like Anthropic.

I am not well versed in extension development but is there anything stopping me from making an open source extension and just defining the ID as one of the three in the article? It most likely couldnt be released via the chrome addon store but if it is installed outside of thar? And how are these IDs read after install, could it potentially be altered by something from the outside?

I immediately see so many flaws with this implementation it is worrying that a company the size of Anthropic does this.

Even if this was an opt-in feature the implementation is still terrible and a massive security hole. If id wanted the desktop app entirely and solely for this purpose i still would not expect my browser extension to have full access to my computer. I understand the app does, not the browser extension.

No matter how you twist and turn this situation Anthtopic has still introduced a major security issue in their application. It might be a bit far to call it malware immediately but it sure does open up a massive attack vector to take advantage of.

The fact that the end user is not even informed or have a choice about this makes it all the more problematic and Anthropic not commenting on it makes me think its either intentional or at the very least already known.

Its because of how airflow works, essentially you could make less fresh air hit the components and just run around in the case if you have too many. It is very case dependent but more often than not you do not want all fan slots occupied 😊

I’m running 3 front fans only on my 7800x3d + 6800x rig. Temps are somewhat high but manageable 👍
