No, again, this is not what I was addressing. I responded to a comment saying these would only be of interest to “predators”. You yourself say that you get how they can be helpful, that’s all I was saying too. All the rest of this is arguments that are being imagined.

The upvote/downvote thing mostly indicates whether a comment or post agrees with the current popular opinion of the social bubble it’s found inside. I’ve said the same thing in different places and see quite different ratios. It’s not very useful for analyzing the content itself, it just tells you what the room thinks of it.

Or people with a bad memory for faces and names, who find one of the most harrowing social situations to be when someone walks up to them and says “hey, how you doing?” With no recollection of who this person is or how they know you.

I think this would depend on the house being designed for this in the first place. A long time back I recall reading about how non-flow-through houses would endure high winds in a hurricane or tornado until one of the windows broke, at which point the hole in the house allowed the wind to ram air in (or suck air out depending on which way the hole was facing) and the whole house would disintegrate.

If my recollection is correct then there might be a slight benefit in the house-wrapping idea in that it might do a bit to prevent a hole like that from being taken advantage of. But only a slight benefit. Probably better to just do the traditional nailing of plywood over windows and such.
