RDX is the only way I view reddit now, when I have to.
Like you, I am a living person with memories, emotions, and interests. But from your perspective, I’m just another picture on a screen. Isn’t that concerning?

RDX is the only way I view reddit now, when I have to.

that’s true, things can change at any point. hopefully a workaround is found if it ever gets to that point though. them sandboxing Google play was impressive in itself.

i have one myself, and I can tell you that grapheneos won’t be affected by this. the real damage is to people using things like dumb phones or BSD, even windows computers are effectively locked out of the internet.

dang, even with vanadium on graphene i am very uniquely identified. I suppose it can’t be helped these days.

this is probably going to become the normal internet again after the inevitable social media age verification laws get passed.

most useless purchase of a domain ever

when I was 16 I knew I didn’t want to drive one day. didn’t end up saving for a car like all my classmates and friends. now look who’s laughing, not them because the car will think they’re drunk if they do.

I used to play this all the time as a kid. need to get back into it.

lemmyworld defederates the dbzero piracy community. only that community though i think

your instance blocks piracy related communities. here in dbzero there is a very active piracy scene, it’s just defederated.
Hexbear is cool. I’ve learned a lot from them. the thing is, some of the people there can be a little brash at first. I recommend looking around the instance a bit before you decide on blocking it. some of them can be a little brash but they mean well.
honestly it’s replaced reddit for me in a good way, because it has just enough new content that I can check it before bed every day and scroll for a bit, but not enough to where I spend entire lunch breaks on it. sometimes I go days without even checking it. if anything it’s made my relationship with my browser / phone healthier than reddit.
knowledge is power. I’ve grown to really hate technology, but being knowledgeable about it has helped me to stay safer in the dystopia. buy a phone with an unlockable bootloader and install a custom ROM. code your own apps, I learned java within the span of 3 days to make my own WebView apps of mobile sites instead of making a Google account or using the play store. people who have never been into tech can’t do this kind of stuff. you’re smart about the digital footprint though, I’ve been minimizing where I can since 2024 because I saw the writing on the wall even back then.
